Just outside the clock tower, this hotel’s location is perfect for enjoying Getsemaní and the old city on foot. The rooms are fancy and the included breakfast had one of the best arepas in town. The staff is friendly and cocktails are amazing.

The staff was most accommodating; however, there were several instances of somewhat third world situations, for example, the elevator would not open on our floor, the safe would not lock (another one was promptly supplied). On the first night we returned to the room to find just a trickle of water.( It was explained that the water was turned off in the district. When the water returned it was brown for a few minutes.) The architecture was beautiful and the breakfasts tops. Our room and bath were beautiful.

We had a Queen Superior Room and was pleasantly surprised! The room was well lit, the room was clean and the bed was REALLY comfortable. I also loved how the AC would stay on (even if you left the room) whereas some other hotels require a hotel-key to turn on the AC. The only thing that was not great is the water pressure (for the shower and sink) was literally droplets. I didn't expect much pressure for the shower (although, as someone will long hair it took forever to rinse and lather), but it was hard to even rinse your mouth or wash your hands as the water would barely come out! On the last 3 days there was NO hot water, then turned to NO WATER at all, and the staff did not care when they kept saying "They are looking into this". This left a bad taste in my mouth, as the majority of our time here was VERY pleasant! The biggest concern I had is that the washroom (in our room at least) did not have a glass window and the walls seemed very thin as we could hear noises all throughout the day and night. Maybe it was the time of year we went, but the were doing a lot of renovations at the most inconvenient times of the day! This would start around 5-6am, then STOP in the afternoon/day, then start again around 11pm! And it was shaking our room! The location is very convenient (I never had to cab). Another thing is the pool area does not have enough seating, but luckily it was only busy on the weekends around the pool. Also, the free breakfast has great options and was great!

The building was very charming. And it was a great location. Staff were poor. Couldnt were non existent. And The tour we we’re booked on to see the phytoplankton was awful. There was some recompense but really unsatisfactory Hot water didn’t work. This was raise twice with staff. No change.
