Cozy, comfortable stay. Loved the lobby and the wood-burning fireplace. Will return once there is more availability for the pool/hot tub and the fireplace upstairs is open.

Hot Tub BS

I have stayed at most every hotel in Banff and we booked specifically at the Moose this time for their amazing rooftop hot tubs for after skiing, only to learn once we arrived that the hotel has a terrible and unorganized system for booking the hot tub. The website says that you must book your spot at check in, and when we checked in at 4pm they informed us that it was full and we would not be able to hot tub at all that night. They were rude and condescending about it, saying it was the Alberta Giv fault. They said we could get up and call the front desk at 7am to book a spot for the next morning. They said that because everyone else in the hotel would be calling at 7am that they would call us back in the order we called but no guarantees. I called as soon as the clock turned to 7am, and then walked to the front desk and she said we were 22nd to call and she couldn't say we would get a spot...again rude and condescending when I asked about what they were doing for their customers who didn't get in to use their amenities, seeing that they own several properties in Banff - nothing. The hotel room was fine, nothing special, so I would not pay the extra money to stay here again in the future based in the service and poor management of the amenities.

Banff beauty

Beautiful foyer with a wonderful fireplace. We stayed here a few years ago when the hotel was new. You can see some wear in the rooms. The beds are very comfortable...love the bed pillows. The Ryan-Carter artwork is fantastic. Hot tub has a great view of the mountain.

Excellent all around. Rooftop hot tubs had awesome views and timing for use was very well organized. Our room had everything we could ask for but the fireplace was an added bonus. First time staying here but we will return for sure!

Disappointed Stay due to COVID Regulations

The stay at the moose was good, however. I had called the hotel before making the booking and asked if the pool and hot tub were open. I was informed that they were open but times were needed to be booked in order to use the facilities. What I was not told is that there was only one booking per family, per day for 25 minutes (pool or hot tub, not both) and this had to be booked at 7:00am each morning in order to hopefully get a time for that day. We arrived Friday afternoon. Nothing available for Friday. Saturday we were able to utilize the pool for 25min. Asked hotel staff of we were able to use the hot tub later that day as it was not being utilized and was informed that we were not allowed as the slots needed to stay open for other guests. Sunday we wanted to use the hot tub in the morning, called at 7:00am and there were no spaces available until later in the afternoon. Long story short, we spent a full weekend at the moose and were able to use the pool for 25min. Almost 600 dollars spent and no flexibility what’s so ever. It was very disappointing. Generally, we always like to stay at the moose when we are in Banff but may be looking elsewhere next time. I realize COVID has changed everything but we were just looking for a weekend getaway, somewhere with a pool and hot tub that we could relax in. We weren’t there to ski and just wanted to stay at one of our fav spots. Had the staff informed me of the specific rules initially when I called we would have booked elsewhere.

Location good, cleanliness questionable

The overall property and location were great. Questions to our room cleanliness came as we were about to check out. We were doing a double take to make sure we had not left anything behind, and found old orange peels in a corner, used tissues that weren’t ours and the discovery of piece of luggage left behind. This creeped me out a bit. Our room on the first floor was very noisy, kids running through the hall, someone above us banging things and I over heard quite a few guests complain about the same things. I did witness smoking on the property which I thought was non smoking as well.

Friendly staff. Clean. Only complaint is the hot tub rule that you have to reserve same day in person so if you are only staying one night you are screwed because all the slots are booked by the time u check in. Hot tub was one of our sole reasons to go.

Lovely, as usual

This is our 3rd stay at the Moose Hotel and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Wonderful ambiance, love the wood burning fire place in the lobby. The rooftop hot tub is a wonderful treat. Will definitely stay again!

Fantastic hotel and location. Loved the extra sitting room and kitchenette. Only downside was we were two floors above the garage door which you could hear very clearly, especially first thing in the morning.
