location was fabulous, the room are large. Staff was kind, polite and very helpful. Breakfast was Belgian food and very good Lots of choices Parking is a must there, well worth the 18 Euros Looking forward to going again Brigitte

The location is perfect. In Bruges it is a very busy city once all the tour buses arrive, having some peaceful time to sit a see the sights on your own and to snap those photos is must in my book. The location being at the city square allows you to be up early morning, and to see the buildings in the late evening when they are lit up. The photos without the mass crowds are big time keepers. Being so close to the square lets you take in all of Bruges, and to take breaks when you need. The accommodations are amazing and very spacious. There is a staircase but very accomodating, not like many of the very steep stairecases in Europe, this one is spiral and wide. Breakfast is simply amazing and finally the host is wonderful, as witnessed by our smooth and helpful check-in and by his engagement with fellow guests over breakfast. Would not hesitate to stay here again, or send anyone of my friends as a recommendation. Cheers

Excellent location, clean room, big clean bathroom, good wifi, big windows. What i didn't like was the smell like from the toilet but seems it was coming from outside.

Needs overall renovation starting with strong smell from humidity that can be immediatelly noticed upon entering the facilities. No lift,nor A/C and practically no Wi-Fi. Staff, altough attentive, always seemed surprised with requests but addressed them immediately. Excellent location (if you can stand the noise) and superb breakfast while listening to Verdi arias

When I was checking out I told the owner of the Verdi that it was almost criminal to have a room so nice in Bruges because I wanted to hang out in there all the time instead of going out in the city! I was only half joking, though, because you're right in the middle of the action at the Verdi so you can't help but go out, but the room I had was a quiet oasis with beautiful rooftop views and a very comfortable bed. From the moment I arrived, the service was spot on. I arrived a few hours before check in to drop my bag off and when I returned, my bag had already been placed in my room. Breakfast every morning was welcoming and high quality. And did I mention how nice the room was? Huge, quiet, and very comfortable. I can't imagine there's a better place to stay in Bruges.

We had a very disappointing experience and this is the first bad review I have ever given . We booked six months in advance because this place looked so lovely and a bit special for our time in Brugge with our friends. Sadly, there was no room for us when we arrived. We were shunted off to a budget room in an inferior hotel. The situation was handled very poorly as we had no idea what was going on. Upon arrival our friends were carted off one way and us another. We didn't know where they were taken or where we were going - or even that we were going somewhere else. There was something confusing said about us being on different floors, but that was it . There was not a word of apology offered. When we eventually figured out what had happened - our mates got a room at the BNB but we didn't - we tried to get an explanation and were met with arrogance, defensiveness and obfuscation. We eventually got agreement from the manager that he would reduce our charge to match what we'd have had to pay at the cheaper hotel. Something that should gave been offered without having to ask at the very least!! We had sussed out the rate difference with the reception at the alternative hotel but we only got a reduction of about half what we should have. We again tackled the manager about that but he was adamant that he had refunded the difference between what we paid him and he paid the other hotel. Again no apology at all. The opposite in fact - he made it clear he did not care in the least.
