Generator Barcelona

Not my favourite Generator hostel, the dorm room for 8 felt suffocating and seemed like a health hazard really. I’ve been in big dorm rooms before and never mind it but this did not feel safe. There wasn’t much ventilation in the room either so whenever it got smelly(which isnt the fault of the hostel, obviously) it would be hard to air out the smell. I was not a fan of spain in general but the people working in the hostel from the front desk to the cleaners we’re all lovely which is what mattered. If you do plan on staying pay more for a four bedroom dorm which would help you breathe a bit better.

It was very nice. I would appreciate if they have maps at the front desk.

The room is small and the smell was not nice

I’ve been visiting for over a year now on and off and it’s noticeably needing some TLC. When I first visited you needed key cards to access the lifts which made it feel safer. These no longer work. The lifts are incredibly and painfully slow. So much so there ends up being a queue for the lift. This urgently needs addressing. Food is good, but the menu is really limited to just a couple of lines. There’s a great opportunity for growth here. Service is great.

The communal areas would need some improvement (facilities and cleanliness) but the dorm was 10, comfortable, functional and clean. Easy to reach, would recommend.
