it was a terrible experience. I was charged extra $$ because my girlfriend stayed with me in the room when I had made the reservation for a king size bed, good for 2 persons. The people at the hotel told me the reservation Expedia made was for one person only. This ended up costing me more than $100 at check out. why would I made a reservation for a king size bed if it was only me staying in that room? This was a dirty trick played on me which costed me money. One of my return flights was changed/eliminated by the airline. Expedia gave me a collect call number to call and select other options for my return itinerary. I called that number from the hotel number. 2 days of calling, 5-6 different calls, talking to different people, spending more than 6 hours on the phone, put on hold, disconnected, they never called back as promised, finally my itinerary was confirmed, new flights reserved. Surprise at check out!!!! the hotel charged me more than $120 for those phone calls made to Expedia collect call number they provided. It was a collect call number at all. The Expedia customer representatives/ reservation team were useless, not courteous at all and did not live up with the promises made. Very unprofessionally handled. The hotel charged me for minibar consumption which I did not consume, I am 100% sure and certain, I did not because I bought my own drinking water, juices, yogurt and other stuff outside the hotel, at a local supermarket I doubt if I use Expedia again!!

Sonesta Barranquilla

The breakfast was good. Close to malls The concierge asked many questions before we left from the hotel every time, maybe for security purpose. They charge for the coffee to use in the coffee made at the room $6.50 I expected free coffee at the room, especially because it is an American hotel chain. The pool is really small, but it has a nice view of the city.
