Tom's Hotel - Caters to Gay Men

For Gay travelers the location is perfect,the guys at the front desk are very friendly and helpful I usually stay at Axel but may have to change this is a basic hotel but again location is perfect

No comfortable chairs or couch. The bed pillows were horrible…No support. Choice of TV channels was very poor…No mainstream channels…No channels in English. The lighting was very poor…Too dim.

The only positive about this place was the warm greeting. The bad 1) this is not a hotel - it’s a set of individual rooms in a private residence block. There is no room service, no communal area etc that you would get in a normal hotel. 2) the “pillow” was a thin, sad piece of material that had to be folded in 4 to get any padding. 3) the hot water for showering lasted exactly 4 min before going cold - I actually timed it 6 out of the 7 nights I stayed. 4) the morning after my first night I noticed a lot of dust on the floor. I jokingly wrote “clean me” in the dust. It was still there 5 days later. The dust got worse and worse. Finally, beware pickpockets in the area. They come up to you on the pretence of asking directions for a local bar, press up real close (almost grinding up against you) then go for the wallet. Do not stay here

Nice staff at the reception. Nice area to be in. Close to the subway and buses. Close to a big grocery store to shop food to have in your room (as there is no breakfast at this hotel), but also cafès around for breakfast alternatives. The room was really cool looking. Had a big bathroom with a big shower too. Had a window to the backyard so not much noise, but in general it was a very calm and quiet neighborhood both during the day and night. My drawback for this hotel is that there should've been more noise-proofing between rooms and the doors out to the hallway. I was there in a "quiet season", so when the hotel is full I bet you'll go crazy with all the door slamming and people walking outside your room. This hotel is built out of an old apartment building, so the walls and doors they have put up are really thin and not sound-proofed. The cleaning stuff can also put a little more effort in cleaning the room - especially along the baseboard all around the floor in the room and the bathroom and behind furniture - dust had gathered there for quite some time and was black and grey with filth. It was an okay stay, but I probably won't come back. Luckily the cheap price I got for it, made it worth the trip at least. And again, big thumbs up to the friendly staff at this hotel :)

Good location in the Schoenberg area. Really need to sort out the drains as smells from the shower every time open bathroom door.

This hotel was perfect due to location in the city. Fortunately, the bathroom is not down the hall. Unfortunately, the bathroom is in the hotel room.

Very nice rooms. Unfortunately, when tou see hotel expect somo minimun facilities for breakfast, etc. This is a room in an apartment building and that is it. Sunday, no body to talk to.. etc.

First of all this is not a hotel it’s a number of apartments over several buildings. There is no communal area/bar. Two guys at check in one very friendly and helpful took me to the apartment. The other not friendly or even remotely interested. The actual apartment is in a residential block. Typical old German apartment kitted out in modernish furniture. Seemed clean enough although ‘free’ bottle of water was half full/empty! Bed wasn’t great and pillows were well past their best. The room was central for all bars/cafes in the area. For one night stay it was fine if not a little overpriced. Do t think Id stay again.
