Nuvo Hotel Suites

Was not clean ( half bottle of Gin in one of the cabinets, a plastic bag was wrapped around the smoke / Co2 detector, wine stains on the ceiling). Shifty characters in the suite across the hall( women escorts taking clientele in and out of suite hourly all night long). We checked out after two nights and went to stay elsewhere.

The area has many drug addicts on the street which would not be a problem, but they also stay in the hotel as guests. I could not sleep due to the noise! People yelling and even dogs barking inside the hotel. There was a strong urine smell in the hallway as well. I don’t recommend

This was a 4 night stay on a family trip, check in was smooth and the owners were really nice. But there were so many negatives to this place. -The exterior of the building had homeless around it day and night. Just hanging out by the doors or as you left, not the hotels fault; but not good for families. There are safer locations in Calgary. -Every night we were awoken to some sort of noise or commotion/fight. I think the hotel has long term renters. The cops were there 2/4 nights. -Our room was next to the front doors, you heard everybody come and go at all hours, the walls are not sound proof. You can hear people talking in other suites, or their pets barking. -Our room was in the basement, not ideal, but should be in the description. -Bathroom is super tiny. No bath. -Hotel stated it had breakfast, but due to Covid it was closed. Yet every other hotel on our trip provided a to go bag. No adjustment in price for not providing. -Suites are more like an AirBnb than a hotel room, which we liked. But the finishes are cheap and are showing their age. -Parking was not free and also a block walk away. -No ‘do not disturb’ sign. Would not recommend this hotel, pay a bit more and stay somewhere else.

Nuvo Hotel is not a hotel its like aan apartment. The staff was friendly but the outside and surrounding of the building is very shady with lots of homeless people around. Not a part part of the city. I will not stay here again.

Affordable price, nice location. Though a lot of hair in shower drainage, water do not drain in the sink and shower. In the morning you can hear ppl have sex or talking.

Big double queen room but washroom was dirty. Noisy. Very bad wifi, i had to use my data. Paid parking was far from hotel and very unsafe for people to walk from parking to the back entry as per experience.

A quant, unique space in downtown Calgary walking distance to every establishment imaginable. The room was quite beautiful, however wasn’t the cleanest room in the world which was slightly concerning given the current times. It was definitely clean, but it appeared it hadn’t been well deep cleaned in some time - didn’t bother me much. The building is older but in fine condition. Owners were friendly. Checkout was very prompt - owner was knocking at the door exactly at 11am. Affordable room and would stay again if I were needing to be in downtown Calgary

The suites are comfortable and well equipped. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a cheap night in Calgary. The hotel is conveniently situated in front of a grocery store and a liquor store. Very nice if you're planning a little gate away. It's not exactly "downtown" but it's walkable (20 minutes tops to the Peace bridge) and it's kind of nice. Note that the parking isn't included and there was no breakfast due to COVID.

Its the best hotel if u want privacy, safety, quieteness, comfort and very at home feeling without the hassle of public contact specially during the time of pandemic, and the people that work there are beyond nice & super honest because i left Money in the drawer and he even etransfered it to me, i will definitely stay there again!

Upon checking in, we discovered the room was very dirty. We’re in the middle of a pandemic and we couldn’t believe how dirty it was. When we addressed it with the management and asked for it to be cleaned, they told us they didn’t have housekeeping. We looked at another room and it was almost as filthy. We were offered a refund and when we got to the details, one of the managers said we had to pay for one night since we “touched everything”. We said that was unacceptable to be charged for a dirty room we were in for all of 15 min. They wouldn’t negotiate so we paid for the one night and they refunded us the rest. Completely disgusted that during a pandemic, they’d treat guests this way. Unacceptable and they should be reported to Alberta Health Services.
