Hotel A LA Commedia

What a gorgeous boutique hotel in the best area of Venice...San Marco! Just a 7 minute walk to the square and just about everywhere else you want to be! When we booked the room, we didn't realize that a complimentary tour to Murano is included...very nice! The accommodations were gorgeous as was the restaurant where we opted for the included breakfast. Venice was our first stop and A La Commedia was a romantic and elegant introduction to the city! Staff was very helpful.

This was a excellent hotel for us in Venice! Location was easy to find with their walking directions from the Rialto valporetto stop. Very close to that stop to get around the Grand Canal to all sites. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Very clean, very comfy bed, great bar in lobby. Rooftop deck wasn't open, we were there late October. Refurbished 12 years ago and very up to date. Breakfast was an amazing buffet full of choices. I highly recommend this hotel. Best place of our two week stay in Italy! P.S. if you need an accessible hotel in Venice, choose this one.

The service and location were all excellent! Just a few blocks from vaporetto stop so convenient for getting to and from anywhere in Rome, even with lots of luggage, and its smack dab in the middle of it ALL. The front desk gentleman who worked every evening - Frederico? - gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and provided easily the best service we got in italy. Breakfast was much better than acceptable, not what I'd call "great" (I'm picky) but the food was fresh and plentiful and it was a damn good buffet of choices by euro standards. We enjoyed the rooftop bar on 2 of our 3 nights so that part was really lovely too. The only constructive feedback I have is how they used the available space in the room was good. They have 2 classes of rooms plus suites, from what I understand. We booked the best room class available, a Deluxe, so we'd have some extra space. The bathroom was huge and awesome, and the bed was comfy, but the room itself was still just so cramped even though we rented the larger version, Deluxe. We only had 2 bags and we couldn't move around to get to the bed without stepping over bags, yet they had a table and 2 stuffed chairs that simply wasted needed space. If they got rid of that it would have actually been perfect. The one complaint aside, I'd def stay here again if I were to come to venice again.
