Alma Di Alghero Hotel

I really loved this hotel - it gets all the important things right. Service friendly and professional - from the reception staff to the breakfast ladies to the people cleaning the rooms. The latter were super-slick, with that ability to notice when you'd gone for breakfast and have the room sparkling on your return! Breakfast itself was simple but good. Great, fresh scrambled eggs, which is always how I judge a hotel breakfast! The breakfast room is on a high floor with stunning ocean views, and breakfast is served until 11, which is great for later risers like me. Alghero is lovely and laid-back off season. Not a huge amount to do in the local area, but the city centre is an easy 10 minute walk away, and there are three supermarkets within 5 mins. Only a couple of negatives: the local drains smell pretty bad at certain times and you get the smell in the bathroom. It didn't bother me but it may concern those more sensitive to such things. I also got an electric shock from one of the juicers at breakfast - it was immediately removed so I'm sure it was a one off. It certainly woke me up! All in all, I really enjoyed my time at the Alma Di Alghero and I'm sure I'll be back. Everything from the decor of the room to the unexpected side sea-view from my balcony exceeded by expectations.

After looking at the property from the outside we thought every room would have a balcony. We checked in, got room 203 and was disappointed in every sense. Okay, no balcony, which I found amazing compared to the outside view. They must have just squeezed the room in after all others were done. It was tiny, not appropriate for a couple. The shower room was so small. You have to sit at an angle to use the toilet. The walls must be paper thin, you will hear EVERYTHING outside, up, down, left, & right of you. We could hear EVERYONE & EVERYTHING! It’s such a same, because it is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice and the pool on the top floor was nice (despite not being heated, as advertised!) would not stay again just because of the rooms. The parking charge at €15 per day is far too overpriced!

Nice clean hotel but not worth the price. Location was good. A walk from old town.

I just can’t help going back to this wonderful hotel and I’ve been going there since 2007. Super-friendly staff, excellent breakfast, unbelievably convenient location that makes everything accessible on foot... The room we had this time around had a direct sea view; not a single downside and they’re constantly getting better. I recommend it without any reservations.

Lovely breakfast and pool but pool not heated which is a shame as chilly in May. Property is a good 15 mins walk to central town.

Second time in two years at this hotel, did stay some 10 years ago but the hotel has has a significant overhaul sine then Stayed out of season and am familiar with the area, can’t fault the hotel, great friendly service spacious rooms, nice pool area and a good breakfast, would and probably will stay again!

Very clean and modern hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.. parking is limited with narrow alleys. But the staff comes out and assist you parking. Even after midnight :-)
