Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Suites Calgary West

This property is OLD and rundown. It was clean, but the walls, furniture, flooring was all beat up. The beds and pillows were comfy, but the pool deck and stairs were dirty. Wouldn’t stay here again until they upgrade. The elevator wasn’t working so we had to take the stairs.

One of my waters was already half gone. There was no conditioner. Bathroom counter coming apart, fridge didnt work. Irs too bad the hotel has/is not able to update or upgrade because their staff is excellent and would be the reason if I did return. Meagan at the front desk is excellent.

Hotel was gut and reasonable quiet. Unfortunately we were right across from the Ice machine. Way too noisy for comfort so that kind of shadowed the stay.

It was a nice room, unfortunately the adjacent room is not soundproofed and at 11:30 there was loud conversation that woke us up. Very disappointed with that. Other than that it was a good stay.

Was supposed to get a balcony but never did they put on main floor and when was brought up all I got was sorry...no discount no let me give you a coupon for food. Nothing. Photos are misleading as room was very very plain and small to be able to move around. The bathroom was large and very nice. Room was clean.

The property needs a bit of a spruce up, the bag breakfast is okay, and we did go to the lounge; service is fine, but a bit slow due to one person working. Staff is friendly. Kind of crazy thin walls, the next room complained that we were noisy at 9 pm b/c they were leaving early in the morning; but they also tried to open the adjoining door early in the evening prior to the phone call when only one person was in the room. We stayed here last year and it was nice and the breakfast was incredible so that was missed this time around.

The price is reasonable and clean, location is convenient

I would like a response to this for future reference. My friend and I are 18. We used her mother’s credit card to book and pay for the room itself. We looked through the check-in policy to confirm they allow 18 year olds upon check-in. Given we know some places only allow 19 or 21 to be present for check-in. We arrive at the hotel and my friend pulls her own ID and her mothers credit card, and our receptionist informs us that the card holder must be present, even though the reservation is clearly under my friends name, the lady proceeds to turn us away. Had my friend been alone, she’d be stuck without a place to stay. I pulled my own credit card and ID out and they let us be on our way. My parents and I will make a show out of this if it is not in fact true that the cardholder must be present, and or if the policies are not updated. This ordeal would not be an issue if it was clearly stated a cardholder must be present, because it would be only us to blame for not reading the policy. But to turn away two young girls away with no added support of any kind, my parents and I both, find this very irresponsible and negligent of the situation. And to top it off as a past employee of a service job such as house keeping, I was less then thrilled about the room. The mirror in the main room is covered in finger prints from the previous occupants, hair was also found in the bath room, and the hide-a-bed had literal dead skin remains and hair all over the mattress comforter.
