Hotel Zoo Berlin

It’s an ok hotel if you are paying the discounted rate we paid but if you are to pay full price, it’s not worth it. The rooms are nice enough and the bed is comfortable. The shower is great. However, the receptionist that welcomed us was unfriendly and needlessly argumentative and the rooftop bar is overpriced and a little pretentious and you have to take the lift all the way down to use the bathroom. The restaurant staff were lovely and very helpful however. The first time I stayed there was far better mainly because the welcome we received this time around left bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Won’t be coming back.

Staff were great, however the on site bar is mostly private events (and therefore cannot be used) noisy and can be heard in the room late at night. Also silverfish bugs found in bathroom everyday.

Positives - veryvnice lobby and panoramic room had big windows with a nice view. Service was good. Negatives - room was just Ok, more 3/4 star, definitely not 5 star. Very small bathroom with uncomfortable shower in bath, worn out furnishing and finishes, towel had a big hole in it, coffer maker (nice) but without any creamer. Room was quite stuffy and did not smell/feel fresh. Just a general sense of bad room design/chain hotel. So it’s smallish things but we expected something bit more special given the price and other reviews. We did not look forward to going to our room at end of long day out, which is never a good sign.

Hotel Zoo is a lovely place to stay. It is decorated really well and feels luxurious. There are nice little touches in the room, like free bottled water and zoo themed sweets. The restaurant is really good, although it is expensive, but totally worth it for a treat. You need to book because it is very popular with locals too. The only disappointing part was the bar which is outsourced and extremely busy so it was impossible to go in there after dinner.

Great hotel centrally located in the shopping area of Berlin. Highly recommend.. clean, quiet and very artsy. Try the cocktails in the bar, delicious and creatively presented

We absolutely loved this hotel. Great design, very comfortable even in the (not that) small room - everything you need is there. Great breakfast and bar at night. Hanging out by the lobby fireplace after a day of sightseeing was pure bliss. Excellent location. Truly, I can’t say enough good things.

Great hotel. I liked the design a lot. Bar and a restaurant were great. Breakfast very good! The only minus is that there were no slippers in my hotel room

Excellent decoration, clean and up to date as well as friendly staff. Disliked the size of our shower room and cost of breakfast! A great stay and I recommend highly.
