The staff was great, but the hotel condition was bad, maintenance is needed, the windows need security bars and insect screen/nets. A/C is noisy and old.... which won't be an issue if the windows are protected.

For the price and the location this hotel is a good value. There were a few things that left much to be desired. When I checked in I asked for a room away fromt he disco and they put me two floors up, but next to the elevator and I could hear the disco until it closed at 2 a.m. There were no english channels onthe tv and the staff was not friendly at all. I live in costa rica and go to San Jose often, but will never stay here again.

It was GREAT! The rooms are huge, 8 ft closets, huge comfortable beds, really hot water, very very clean, the food is great but the best part is the staff. They really have a great bunch of dedicated people----- when you need or want something they are johnny on the spot. And the security----- no one gets in or out unless they know you. There is a disco in the second floor and you wont be able to sleep until 2 AM when the bloody music finally stops (friday and saturday until 2 AM sunday until 12PM not sure about the rest of the week). Stayed 4th outside(slight road noise) and inside 5th floor (quiet with the A/C on) since there is a bar 2nd floor and casino 1st. Not bad low cost stay with A/C.hot water,free breakfast and 3-4 blocks to the Alajuela/airport bus station. Also short walk or taxi ride to coca cola bus station to the coast.

Clients are provided with high security.Located in the center of the CITY .Stayed in the 4th floor room,there is no noise( 3 rd floor has a lot of noise from the disco).Furnished with a fridge but not all the rooms.Breakfast was not up to standard but it is bettr than nothing offered at other similarly rated hotels.

The 4 nights in this hotel, king size bed room including(!) breakfast, cost me $161 after fees and taxes and it's in a great location in downtown San Jose. However, it looks very sleazy on the inside, i did see a couple of roaches in my room as was promised by one of the reviews from Tripadviser, the reception is very rundown and the staff has no uniforms, […] some of the employees are very nice but I wouldn't count on much service or English - be careful with the wake-up service: you may get it few min later or not at all and there's no alarm clock in the room. Nevertheless, if you are able to look past all the above and more concerned with the budget, location, and just a place to stay - this can be a GREAT deal. It's right by the Central Avenue, 5 min walk from the National Theater and Grand Hotel Costa Rica (go there for services in English, booking tours or general city information) Also less than 10 min from the bus station - the first bus to the airport is at 4.40am and it costs less than $1 (400 colonas), airport being its 1st stop (unless you have stops on requests) which is less than 25min without traffic. cab will cost you $20-28. Excelente, es la segunda vez que me hospedo ahì, solo tuve un problema con el sistema de Sky pero lo solucionaron a los 10-15min. La atenciòn del personal muy buena, la comida rica, la habitaciòn muy limpia y còmoda.

Muy bueno generalmente, pero lo malo es que la habitación no tenia ventana ni luz natural, por lo demas muy bien buena ubicación, muy bullicioso no recomendable para familias con niños.
