Location is convenient. Room was clean, but definitely "no-frills". Two complaints: 1) poor sound-proofing - could hear every car driving by, and 2) bed mattresses were crunchy - you could not move on the bed without making loud, crunchy noises - even a 7yo child made a racket as he turned on his bed. This motel is an old, antiquated property. It does, however, show aggressive signs of internal room renovations much to their credit. Ours was one such room that could tout a newly,remodeled bathroom amidst worn room furniture and light fixtures. Very clean room with good house keeping standards. The purpose of our visit was an all day medical evaluation […] at UVA Medical Center for a leg and walking condition. The motel listed us properly as Seniors but at check in made us walk up 3 flights of stairs to our room! No elevators. Otherwise an average place to stay for a night and save money. Service, location, cleanliness and quiet were all really good. My only complaint is that the bed was not that comfy, and the breakfast was pretty lame. But I would definitely return...it's great for the price. Charlottesville is usually pricey and you don't get much, so this is a great option.

room is good, clean, adequate. location is close to university. Breakfast is completely inadequate. they just had some creals, juice, coffee, bagels and bread. No eggs, no meat, nothing freshly made.

It was very clean. Had everything you needed. Furnishing were very simple.Was fine for spending the night if you just wanted a clean room and did not want to spend a lot of money and did not need other amenities. It did have a microwave, nice flat screen TV, small ref., iron and hair dryer.

This motel is right next to the Campus of UVA. The rooms are large; they are clean; the shower etc is easy to regulate. The room was on the first floor as requested. The Villa restaurant across the street is very good and moderately priced!! The motel is centrally located to shopping centers and some great restaurants within easy range of travel.

The building is old but the room was immaculate. The mattress was wonderful. No coffee maker in the room and the breakfast was sparse. The receptionist was on the phone when I enetered and stayed on the phone longer than was polite. I mentioned that and he said he was talking to the owner. The owner should know better than to keep the clients waiting […] (it was 95 degrees with 110 humidity!) Although this was annoying, when I came back to the reception desk the employee was very helpful. No extras with this hotel, but it's the closest to UVA by far. Budget Inn will do better, with a little better condition of the overall building, maintenance of the rooms, bathrooms, and changing its' name to a better sounding (classification of name) name, without the wordings of "cheap", or "budget", or anything that brings those to keep it in the "low maintained hotel-motel" type? This particular weekend everywhere […] else in the area was full, because the kids didn't want, for the name of the hotel to stay there, thinking of their peers? Great neighborhood, just off the University of Virginia campus. Room was clean, cute and comfortable for the price--a good value. Continental breakfast was just "adequate", but still appreciated. Overall, a real nice find and a motel I definitely would stay at again.

The staff was very accomodating. Room had combo microwave/fridge which was very usefull. Continental breakfast was just enough to get you started for the day. Better than basic. A bit odd layout for the rooms in the motel, very clean everything worked. Extremely well located next to campus and a good eatery across the street. Brand name pop for 50 cents. Haven't seen that in decades.

This is a nice hotel. Staff was very friendly and very helpfu. The only thing that they need to do is remodel the room. There was the noise of a train that past by. But other than that I had a pleasant stay. I only stayed one night.

Our purpose staying at this hotel was to be ON campus while doing a college visit. It was just that. There is a train that runs by during the night, so be aware of that. It is right on the main campus road so a lot of activity. The room was a bit musty, but clean. Beds-we had no trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep--so they were comfy.

The best aspect of the Budget Inn is its superb location vis a vis UVa activities. A short walk to the Alumni Club, around the corner from Carr's Hill, adjacent to Carr's Hill field, where the UVa band practices before home games, smack in the center of everything UVa. The second best aspect is its amazing value, given its super location. The third […] best thing about the hotel was how sweetly we were treated on the phone when making our reservation, and then how nicely we were treated by the desk staff. The fifth good thing about the hotel was how quiet it was (really) given its location on a busy street. But, it does abut the railroad tracks, so, if you're sensitive to noise, bring your ear plugs and you'll be set. The only drawback was our room had a musty smell, but it was clean. This is a great, no frills place to stay. Rooms are small, but very, clean. Location to University is excellent and it is only a short trip into downtown. Beds are firm and the windows open! Staff is polite and helpful.

The hotel room was very clean, however there was a strange odor in the room; I believe it was coming from the AC unit. Staff was friendly and courteous. Internet was at times intermittent in the afternoon and evenings; asked the receptionist if there was a problem with internet, her response was "sometimes it happens". I asked if she was going to do […] something about it, and the response was "it will come back eventually and get better". Housekeeping service do a superb job keeping the room clean and the hotel clean in general. Breakfast was a bit sparse, could use some improvements i.e. additional items... (coffee needs work). Be aware that the railroad tracks are very close to the hotel and you will hear the train go by as well as feel the vibration. On a plus note, the students band practiced in a field nearby and I enjoyed their rehearsal very much; rehearsal was over by 8:30PM. Nice. Overall it was a good stay for the price, just don't have high expectations, be prepared for the train and don't expect a gourmet breakfast. Good place to stay for a short duration. Подробнее

The staff of the Budget Inn was very nice and the room was clean. The room had no pictures on the walls or dresser, and there was no box of tissues! The location was close to shopping, restaurants and the college. The continental breakfast was quite sparse but adequate. Not my favorite hotel, but affordable.

This Budget Inn is a simple, no frills hotel, but it offers a great "walk to everything" location, very clean, quiet room with a great bed and a nice flatscreen TV. Just bring your own box tissue and shampoo.

I stayed here as an alternative to paying a lot more for an event at the nearby Boar's Head Inn. It is also close to the UVA Law School. It was clean and I appreciated the wireless internet and good TV selection. One thing it did lack was shampoo.

Can't beat this Budget Inn for the price. Location was great ,especially for anyone wishing to visit Uof VA. Not too fara drive to Montecello, Ash Lawn and Mitchie's Tavern. Walking distance to anywhere on the UVa Grounds; best price by far in C-ville, especially among those hotels close the the university. Rooms are somewhat dated - older furniture and fixtures in bathrooms - but clean, and beds are comfortable.

Clean and in fairly good condition. Quiet area near the highway. They demanded that I pay with my credit card even though I had pre-paid on hotels,com. This should be seamless and now I have to spend time making sure I only paid once.

I agree with other reviews I read, staff was nice, and room was OK for a one night stay. Trains went by every 2 hours and the hotel could use a remodeling.
