Staff were very helpful and the hotel was very easy to find. All of the amenities were right there including gas and a 24 hour grocery store right across the road. Rooms were very similar to our Comfort Inn. Great value.

The boiler was broken and so we had no hot water. The plug in the sink didn't work so we couldn't open the sink and let out the water. We were offered a refund but decided to accept a complementary breakfast. We arrived a the buffet table and this need replenishment, no cups, dishes, jams. Had to ask for it to be replenished. I booked 3 rooms and Hotel proved very accommodating for 4 generations in my family from age 5 to 81. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was plentiful and suited the family's wide tastes. Was able to shop at Tesco's by walking for sustenance for our ongoing trip. Would be happy to stay again and recommend to others.

It suited our needs but the only downside was its proximity to a very busy road, and without double glazing the noise of the traffic all through the night was rather disturbing.

For £35.00 it is absolutely fine. All as we wanted was somewhere to sleep and had no intention of spending any time in the room. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was really clean, spacious and did what it said on the tin. Beds were really comfortable, it was warm although the pillows were on their last leg. Clean and tidy room, initially was cold when first entered bedroom but by evening the room was plenty warm enough and there was also an extra quilt which I used to put on the bed...then got too hot during the night!! The resturant was quick and efficient and good choice of food at great prices.

The Hotel was very good. For such a reasonable rate the room was spacy, bed comfortable and it had a really good shower (which isn't always the case!). However the food in the adjacent Hungry Horse restaurant was average. It was a bit cold and the chips were soggy.

Our room was clean, nice and warm. It's great to have McDonalds and Tesco so close. Although we turned up hours before the original check-in time, the staff didn't make a fuss about it and dealt with it very efficiently and in a friendly manner.

Along the hall is a Hungry Horse restaurant which serves a wide selection of pub grub style food in vast helpings - Good value for money. Over the road is a Mcdonalds drive-thru for the early morning dash to Alton Towers. Also over the road is a Tesco Supermarket which has a petrol station, ideal for the fill-up before driving home as this is significantly cheaper (5/6p/L) than the motorway services. This hotel is located just off the A50 and is only around 10 minutes away from Ittoxeter racecourse. The hotel is located right next door to a busy pub and across the road from a MacDonalds and the hotel car park is used by many to hang around resulting in a lot of extra noise. The hotel is vey basic and the room I was allocated was a ground floor one […] which was relatively spacious. The room had no curtains and was draughty and noisy due to a poorly maintained window. The hot water tap in the bath did not work and neither did the shaving light. The double bed in the room was soft but the headboard screwed to the wall was loose and every slight movement resulted in it moving and banging off the wall. The room was clean but very dated and tired looking. The carpet in the corridor leading to the rooms was threadbare but staff were friendly and had it been anything other than a stop off point I would've complained about the room short falls. The hotel was very clean n tidy. The evening meal was fantastic with plenty of choice on the menu. However was disappointed with the cooked breakfast in the morning for both taste and the fact cooked tomato was in fact just a tomato. But overall a great hotel.

Nothing unusual about this place. Pretty standard for what you pay for. Excellent food in the bar, but a bit noisy after hours. Hot water is scalding hot. Beware. Bouncers on the door was a bit concerning but apparently normal in that area. No problems however. All in all pretty standard

Located conveniently just off the a50 with a restaurant adjoining with affordable meals all day. Tesco, aldi and McDonald's on the same estate. Unfortunately our room was at the back of the building so we were woken by the bottle collection […] and delivery lorries. We had a twin room, plenty of room for two adults but not enough tea/coffee. The room was clean but dated. Obviously being next to the a50 you can hear the traffic but its an ideal stop over point to be able to get straight back on the road. Read the reviews for this hotel and wasn't sure what to expect but we were pleasently surprised. We stayed as a stop over during two days at Alton Towers, it was easy to find, is around 20 minutes away from the park, had plenty of free parking, the exterior was tidy and inviting and we were met by a pleasent receptionist who promptly gave us our keys […] etc. Our room was large, had everything we needed (hairdryer, hangers, spare pillows, towels, tea/coffee facilities, iron, television etc) the bed was very comfortable, we had a bath and shower and both the room and the bathroom was clean and tidy, the room could do with some updating etc but this was largely cosmetic. We ate in the bar, staff were friendly, they offer genral pub food but it was tasty and reasonably priced. We stayed on a Friday night and as other reviews state there was music etc but a live band on a Friday evening wasn't an unpleasent addition to our stay. There was clearly a lot of locals in but I can't say that this was a problem as other reviews have suggested, we didn't stay in the bar past about 9.30pm as we were tired after a long day and when we went back to our room we couldn't hear a thing from the bar or the band. We stayed at the Weathervane as it was close to where our evening entertainment was. In general, the room was clean and tidy and was an overall pleasant place to stay in (even if it was attached to a hungry horse pub) It took us a while to check in purely due to only one staff member being present and a small queue of people, once we arrived (pre-paid […] booking) we got our hotel keys instantly. The only minor issues we had with the room was: The toilet paper holder was coming off the wall, the shower wasn't that strong (pressure operated) so it depended on what the rest of the floor was doing and it took a while to get it working correctly. We each only had one cushion on the bed which is fine for most people, however it would have been nice to have the option for an extra pillow. The only other thing to note was that we had all of the tea making facilities, but no spoon to stir the tea! :) All in all, it was a decent stay for a nice nights sleep if you happen to be doing anything in the local area. There is a food restaurant attached to the hotel which can be handy for evening meals and breakfasts, alternatively, you can cross the road and pop to the Mcdonalds. Подробнее

Free WIFI in room and plenty of free parking. Room was fine , would stay again. Close to highway and we were in highway side bur noise was not a problem. Had to drive to attractions, but they are spread about so was not an issue. Pub onsite and McDonalds adjacent.

I booked this hotel for myself, my boyfriend and our 2 friends as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. The staff were really friendly from the start and chatted with us. There is a Tesco immediately opposite and a McDonald's next door. The restaurant attached to the hotel is good. Value but we had to wait over half an hour on our first night to be […] served. I can safely say that that was the only minus point to our stay. The breakfast was lovely the next morning and we checked out with no problems at all. If you don't fancy the food in the restaurant there are plenty of other places to eat within easy travel distance. We went bowling in th afternoon we arrived and this was only 10mins from the hotel. The place was lovely and would stay again...The bathroom was clean but if finiky could do with a bit of elbow grease....towels and coffee every day...Was quiet, but were down the far end of rooms/corridor...If near to bar could be quite noisey...Overall in a good cituation to city center and amenities...Would stay again...:)

stayed last week for 2 nights at this hotel and found all was well. linked to a hungary horse restaurant and a macdonalds across the car park. a tesco and aldi or lidl across road as well. stayed as visiting alton towers and this took between 15-25 mins to get there and back. would use facilities again if visiting the area.

I chose to stay at the Weathervane due to it's competetive prices and convenient location (close enough to Alton Towers and the other attractions we wanted to see during our stay). On arrival it was very promising, looked nice and tidy on the outside, near to a local supermarket, petrol station and a popular pub/restaurant was just through the door […] at reception. We arrived at 9pm so had to go through to the pub to ask a member of staff to check us in. We were dealt with quickly and the staff member was very friendly and efficient. When we got to our room we had a quick look around to familiarise ourselves with our new home for the next couple of nights. The first thing we noticed was it was a bit chilly, so we went to close the window only to find it was already closed, but in a bad state. The paintwork was all chipping off and the wood was rotting and split in several areas, which caused the window pane to be loose and rattle in the wind. This unfortunately meant we were able to hear a lot of the goings on in the carpark later on in the evening (and unfortunately very early in the morning) as well. The bathroom door was very hard to close, and when we did get it closed we realised the original lock was missing, so was just a hole in the door handle, and someone (either previous visitor or a cleaner) had stuffed it with toilet paper to stop people from being able to see through the hole. There was a replacement lock fitted above the handle, but the mess the old lock was left in was not attractive and should have been sorted out properly when the new lock was fitted. The bath also needed some maintenance just to make it a bit more appealing, it looked as though the side of the bath had fallen off at some point and had been fitted back on but there was about a 3 inch gap from the top so you could see through it down the side of the underside of the bath. This didn't affect it's function though, the bath was fine otherwise, just not very asthetically pleasing. The Подробнее

We needed somewhere close to Alton Towers and this fitted the bill perfectly as it was only 1/2 hour drive from Alton Towers which was clearly signposted from the moment we left the hotel. It was also close to local amenities with a 24 hour Tesco over the road and a McDonalds opposite. Other reviews that we read said that it can be noisy on the weekend […] but we had no such problem on Tuesday night. We were stuck in traffic on the way to the hotel and when we rang ahead to find out what time was the latest that we could check in we were told it was 10pm. We rang their reception desk a couple of times to say that we were running late and on both occasions were told that there would be someone at the desk until at least 11pm. We eventually arrived at 11.20pm and we were able to check in without any problem and the staff were always friendly when answering the phone. They served breakfast in the adjacent Hungry Horse restaurant from 7am until 10am but when we went to get breakfast there was no milk or cups available and we had to ask for both. They then took the milk away almost immediately after they had replenished it so it felt a bit rushed but the food was reasonably priced. Подробнее

We stayed here on the 3rd July (sunday) for 1 night. Lovely clean and tidy room, pillows were a bit on the hard side though!. The Hungary Horse Pub was underneath which was nice, but busy. The food was slightly dry. Excellent place to stay for Alton Towers as it was only 20 minutes up the road. Would definitely stay here again!

Hotel plutot agréable, propre,facile d'accès. Un peu trop bruyant du à sa proximité d'une route fréquenté. La literie n'est pas terrible, à revoir. Sinon c'est pas mal. Un pub directement accollé à l'hotel ainsi qu'un restaurant Hungry horse, servi en énorme quantité!! Bien sympa.
