Hotel Schwanstein - Швангау

Отель на 5+. Вид из номера на горы, просто не забываемое впечатление. Единственно не сразу нашли, но виноваты сами, не подготовились. А какая вода течет из крана.... мммм . До замков 15 минут спокойным шагом. до подъемника на гору Тегельберг рукой подать. А про гору это отдельный рассказ , таких красот я никогда не видела ))))

Check in was quick , but when I asked a question to the lady behind the desk the manger who spoken German started mocking me in English . He just didn't seem very pleasant. We got our bags up to our room and came down for dinner and we were met with the stench of cigarette smoke coming from the very small lobby, every time I saw the manager he was seated […] behind his desk smoking . The next morning we came down for the included breakfast which was good the waitress brought our kids hot chocolate (very sweet) . Atfer our first cup of coffee we never saw her again. We are not very happy with this hotel , for the money we paid on Hotels.com for our family vacation. After 15hours drive with car accident during the way, we arrived at the hotel. I called before to say that we may be after 10pm, because weather conditions are horrible. We were 10:15pm and a manager, who I talked to (by the way in english and he answered in german, claming that he speaks english), run us down for being late! It was in german, so I […] nodded and went to sleep. There is no kettle in the room (and it supposed to be for skiing! ) and no open kitchen area. We enjoyed our stay. We had a view of Neuschwanstein from our room which was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and knowlegeable and provided excellent information. The hotel restaurant was a great place to est and relax.

Very convenient location, @ 2 miles, to the Ludwig castles. Although the room had a mountain view, it was small. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. The breakfast bar offered a nice selection of cereal, meats, bread, fruit and cheese.

When we walked into the "lobby" there was an ashtray full of smoking cigarettes at the reception desk. We had two rooms which were both filthy, including mold in the showers. Both rooms were very smokey. The weather had cooled off considerably and the owner/manager refused to turn on the boiler and insisted that there was nothing that could be done. […] When I pushed on this issue he went on a rant in German and told one of his employees to "translate". I understood what he had to say since I live in Germany and can understand well-enough. There was no desire from any staff person to make our stay the least bit comfortable. This is the most disgusting and disappointing hotel experience that I have ever had. If not for traveling with my mother, my husband and I would rather have taken our kids and slept in the car. We had a great time in this hotel. We rented three rooms on our way from Munich to southern Europe. We got three room facing the mountain with the view on two epic castles. If you have a car and you want to tour Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles, this is a great location. The resturant has good food quality abd pricing, the staff is polite and speaks english, but the owner comes off as rude, he makes the room a little uncomfiortable when he enters it. The room carpet is worn, but the room was clean.

We were surprised about the quality of the facility. The room was reasonably clean but the bath room is not well equipped and dark. The shower head was broken and there was no hair dryer. The bath tub wall was not clean. Wi-fi was good.

Entering the foyer the smell of cigarette smoke was obvious. I thought an inconsiderate person had blown it in from outside. I was wrong. The receptionist was nice and provided the key and breakfast times. I went up the 2 circular staircases and was hit by more smoke which had accumulated in the top of the hotel. Our room had the window closed and stank […] of smoke. My wife and I agreed that we should get a different room - something I've never done before. However, the receptionist had left and a kitchen girl tried to help but it was impossible, the hotel was full. We chose to leave the window open wide while we went out which reduced the smell a bit but the bedding and towels were impregnated with smoke. Various threatening messages about adjusting the TV or using a personal kettle were stuck to the surfaces but there was no provision for buying a cup of tea in the place. More than half of the room had less than 6' (180cm) headroom. We tried the restaurant for dinner but there was no staff to greet us and after hanging about for a while we went to a lovely, fresh-smelling inviting place called Helmer - what a contrast and the menu was better and cheaper. In the morning, on opening the bedroom door the strong smell of cigarettes hit us. The source of smoke was the manager/owner sat in the open office with an ash tray full of butts. His smoke drifted into the restaurant area and I had to get up after each person and shut the door to eat my breakfast without that foul smell. Подробнее

The location was wonderful and we had a view of the castles in the mountains. Even though the hotel is non smoking, smoking is allowed on the balconies and with the windows open because of the heat we often had a room full of smoke. The manager did not seem to treat his staff very well however it was still a great stay.

Very close to the famous castles. Overall a decent hotel. Though they did mess up part of our dinner (steaks ordered medium rare and delivered well done) they did their best to compensate. the remainder of the food was quite good. The staff will need to learn to plan better between big groups and small families

The owner is Terrible. I made a mistake about reservation. When he was explaining the situation, he was angry at me. I had two kids, 5yr and 3yr. Most hotels I stayed did not count them. But he said German Hotels count them same as adult. it is rule. I am a foreigner, not Germany. I did not know. If he were a serviceman like hotelier, he should have […] explained friendly, not angry. Hotel room was a little run down. Balcony was nice and big and had a gorgeous view of the mountain. The bathroom smelled of urine and the bath towels wreaked of smoke. Don't know if it was because we prepaid (aha I have their Hotels.com money now!!), or because we arrived after 5pm due to a late flight, but we ended up with 2 undesirable rooms. This hotel has Bavaria written all over it !! This hotel is very quaint and the staff in hotel and restaurant were very friendly and interested in us as their guests. This hotel has a winding spiral staircase which might be an issue if you have tons of luggage, but we found it to be so charming. If I ever go back I will stay at this hotel again.

Excellent breakfast and decent room. We should have requested an accessible room as there are stairs everywhere and even using the bathroom in the dining area requires going down stairs. Good location near the castle. Owner a bit gruff, but I guess that adds character.

We had a wonderful 2 nightstay. We had a balcony facing the Niewschwanstein castle and just had an awesome view. The staff was very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was very nice as was the restaurant there. The complimentary internet did not work at all for us. The rooms were clean and we were very happy with our stay.

This place was perfect for us. Just off the main road as we entered Fusin where the King's castles were. I woke looked out the window and their the Alps were with Neuschwanstein right in my view. We only stayed here one night but the staff was very friendly and pointed us in the right way to make the most of every minute.

We had problems with rental car and arrived at 9:30 at night. I had called earlier and explained our situation so they were expecting us. This was a super bad experience for us. We were looking for a hotel near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. This hotel came up and said it was 16 miles away from city center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I booked it because of this and the fact that it had free parking, free wifi, and free breakfast. Well, when we got to Garmisch and put in the hotel's address to […] our GPS, it is in fact 56 kilometers from Garmisch. That's 35 miles!! Of course, you must drive around the mountain ranges to get there, so it took 1 hour. So instead of being 16 miles away, we were twice as far, and an hour drive. We tried to call and cancel when we found this out and they weren't bugging and said we couldn't cancel. So, we drove the hour. When we got there, what a disappointment. Smoky entrance, drab dated room, and GREAT! Wifi was broken. So we had no internet. Now that we were an hour away, we had to leave SUPER early to get to our morning appointment so we didn't even get our free breakfast. We asked if there was anything we could take with us, like muffins or bagels, and the person said "no. breakfast is at 8." Good for nothing. The hotel is a great location for Neuschwanstein castle. But, not Garmisch. No Wifi, no breakfast, smoky dated hotel, and an hour from our destination. Hotels.com grossly mis-calculated this distance. DO NOT stay here if you are headed to the Garmisch area. So sad that we had to experience this. If Hotels.com would have had the correct information, we never would have chosen it. Подробнее

Schwanstein is an older rather basic hotel, not a 3 star. The room we had was small, but had a nice view. it was clean and would have gotten a better review if it weren't for the cigarette smoke. The owners smoke in their office on the bottom floor. The smoke smell travels upstairs into the halls. It was too smokey for us.

Bruno made us very comfortable at this hotel. It was within walking distance to Neuschwanstein Castle. The hotel restaurant serves great food and beer. The views are fantastic, and the hotel staff go above and beyond to make your stay in Schwangau warm and welcoming.

Very cozy and comfy for what you pay, though the location is a bit out of the way (30 minute walk from theFüssen fernzug or a five minute cab ride). Only complaint is that the place reeks of cigarrette smoke everywhere - feels that it was seeping through the floorboards!
