Seemed like a newer hotel and it was nicely kept up, the rooms were bigger than I expected. The lobby was set up well for breakfast. The included breakfast was good. The staff was nice. Overall a positive experience.

Good hotel with two compaints: 1) the only food available, other than at breakfast, was from a vending machine, 2) the small exercise room had two treadmills and one elliptical type machine. I was given a room without jacuzzi when I should have had one with jacuzzi. The bed was not comfortable.

We have now been to Ames twice and this stay was much better than our last one. The room was very clean so we were not uncomfortable walking around without shoes on. We enjoyed the hotel stay very much. It is conveniently located right off I-35 and between 5-10mins away from the Iowa State campus, which made it easy for us to drive since we were coming in from out-of-town. The complimentary breakfast was very well-managed and they had all the basics that you needed for a good start to the day. I have never stayed at a hotel where the receptionist called me in my room after about 10 minutes after checking in to see if my room was okay with our family. It was very well kept, looked and smelled clean, linens were new/not worn. Temperature felt great. Bathroom tiles cracked and evidense of mold in bathroom, rest of roo and hotel clean. Ok place to stay, but not worth the price paid.

This was a comfortable place for our family of 4, including 2 young children. The breakfast area was large, and there was an excellent selection of breakfast items. My wife and I stayed on night on June 13th, 2011. The hotel was easy to get to and was clean and new looking. Checkin was easy however when we got to the elevator, it was very small (no big deal). When we got to our room, I inserted the key card, walked in and found that other people were already checked into the room and were in the room ( a bit embarrassing). […] This was quickly corrected by the front desk and an apology offered (it happens I guess). The room was nicely decorated and new looking. Lots of good pillow choices on the bed (including a feather pillow). The bad thing was that the bed was all sunk in the middle. All night my wife and I felt like we were climbing up the edges of the bed to avoid rolling. We though the bed would be comfortable had it not been sunken. Not what we expected from the looks of the room. The breakfast in the morning was great. Waffles you can make from batter, fresh muffins, cereal, juices, eggs and great coffee. Overall our stay was pleasant. If we had a better bed, it would have been perfect. We will try this hotel again but will check the bed and ask for another room if we encounter the issue again. Checking in is convenience and promt.The location is a little out of town but it locate in the nice and quiet.It is very easy to access to the free way. The staff are all very nice and friendly.
