Having just come from a bad experience at a 5* Hotel, I had no expectations for this site. However, considering the price, location and services provided by the hotel, I was extremely suprised! Rooms are adequate and cleaned daily, air con worked, cable tv and a balcony with a sea view! There is a bus stop about 200mtrs away to get you into the old […] town and its right on Lapad beach, so you are no more than 3mins walk to a restaurant. There is a pool on site that has sun lounges. The breakfast was ok, they had selection of cerals, cold meats and cheese, eggs (scambled or hard boiled) and a toaster. Staff were pleasant and helpful and you can have reserved parking spaces across the road Bedroom and shower were rather pokey but did have french windows opening out onto the pool area. Very enjoyable stay. Great location opposite beach, and close to bus stop for old town. Much better to stay outside hot and crowded old town! Buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied - can't understand previous reviewers criticisms of it.

Hotel Komodor is based in the Lapad neighborhood, and is only 2 minute walk away from Lapad beach. The area itself is clean, safe and has plenty of amenities. There are numerous restaurants only a couple of minutes walk away , as well as grocery store nearby, and a small shopping centre about 5 minutes walk away. There is a Bus stop conveniently placed […] near the hotel for easy access to the old town (Just ten minutes on the no.4 bus). As well as connections to the Gruz harbour for trips out to the islands. (or you can walk to the harbour in about 25 mins). The hotel itself was fine, no problems. It was very clean, the frontdesk staff were very helpful and told us about local buses, transfer buses to the airport, harbour, etc. They did ask for our passports on arrival (I know that somebody has mentioned this beore ...oddly as a negative!), However, they only wanted them briefly for checking our details (for hotel security reasons). We gladly provided them with photocopies, which was fine for them. Our room was clean and tidy on arrival. We had a sea view which was slightly obscured by trees, but was still nice. Bathroom was clean and tidy with plenty of towels. Breakfast was actually very good. Continental buffet style with a choice of hot food, eg. scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and some Croatian filo pastry type things too. Fruits, cereals, breads, yogurts, sweet pastries, juices, tea, coffee. I couldn't fault it - very nice, and it set us up nicely for the day. Checkout was quick and without problem. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. It's very good for a 3 star hotel, and for the price, I doubt you will find much better. Подробнее

Its best quality is its staff - very helpful, friendly and knowledgable people. The hotel itself is rather dated but it is okay. The creaky single elevator tends to show the age of the property. If not for the service of the friendly staff we possibly would have left. The bathroom was not at all like the photo, out of date and had the clingy shower curtain that stuck to you and allowed the bathroom to flood. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were simple but comfy. My only gripe was that the continental breakfast wasn't the best but then they usually are. It should be noted that this hotel is quite a walk from the old town.

Excellent for price. Lovely beach walk and church within walking distance. Beautiful Adriatic view. Great place to relax if not keen to be out at Old Town during this stay since it is off from the town center or the main bus station or the airport.

The room was very moldy and both my husband and I developed allergies. The room was too expensive for what it was. The bathroom had a bad smell. Breakfast was included, but after the first day, we did not bother because the food and coffee were horrible.

The Komodor Hotel has 4 stories. This would not be an issue accept that for at least half of the time during my stay the lift did not work. It appeared to either be overheated or it was being shut down. At no time was a repair man called out. The breakfast buffet was of poor quality. That said, the lunch was good.

Not a bad hotel. The location is just a 15 minute bus ride to the "old city" and right across the street is the beach. The staff was great -- spoke fluent English. The room was small, which is common in Europe, but clean. I would stay here again.

Bra hotell. Rent, men en ening fuktiga rum. Mkt trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Frukosten var ok för ett mellanklasshotell. Läget helt perfekt. Nära havet och nära busshållplats in till stan.

The hotel is nice to have the edge of the sea. Excellent view. Good to be near the bus stop. I think an important missing, the rooms do not have wifi.

Bra hotell till det priset. Nära till stranden. Passar bra för dig som inte spenderar din tid på hotellet utan använder rummet till att sova, dusha och byta om.

Vi var på "kæreste"-tur med syv overnatninger på Hotel Komodor slut Juli. Hotellets personale var meget hjælpsomme og værelserne var store og gode samt god air-con. Lækker terasse med swimmingpool og god plads til at sole sig. Hotellet ligger lige ned til stranden( 3 min på gående) og ligger lige ved en stor gade med shopping og restauranter. Maden […] var ikke noget at råbe hurra for (det var dog også tilfældet mange andre steder i Dubrovnik), men det var ok. Absolut det bedste hotel vi kunne finde i den prisklasse inkl. morgenmad. Vi bodde på Hotell Komodor i fire dager. Komodor ligger nært en fin strand (Lapada Beach) og liten og enkel handlegate med restauranter. God bussforbindelse til sentrum/gamlebyen med avgang like utenfor hotellet hvert 15. minutt. Hjelpsom betjening og helt grei frokost. Rommet vi hadde var dessverre lite og mørkt, uten utsikt og uten balkong. Romkvaliteten […] varierer nok en del, for enkelte rom har både utsikt og balkong. Bassenget var ganske lite, men stort nok. Hotellpersonalet var vennlig og serviceinnstilt. Vi fikk et litt dårlig førsteinntrykk da det viste seg at det rommet vi egentlig skulle hatt ikke var ordentlig rengjort. De var imidlertid snare med å finne et nytt rom til oss. Det var helt i orden og det var aldri noe mer å utsette på renholdet i de 10 dagene vi var der. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were cleaned every day, and the pool was nice. The area was peaceful and it was easy to get to the old town by bus. The hotel has an old fashioned feeling.

Vi bodde 2 netter på hotellet. Hotellet bar preg av tidens tann, og vi fant ikke at rommene var spesielt rene (mye insekter).

Vi var en familie med mennesker fra 7-70. Alle svært fornøyde. Nær stranden, nær "restaurantgate/ cafe-gate", nær busstopp. 15 min med buss til gamle byen. Rent og pent både inne og ved bassentområde. Ved deltagelse på guidede turer ble vi hentet ved hotellet. Bortsett fra et par unntakk var personalet blide og hyggelige

L'hotel est bien situé, dans une zone calme, mais proche de la ville en bus. Le service au bar de la piscine laisse quelques fois à désirer. Hotel Komodor offers reasonable quality and practically best possible location in Dubrovnik Lapad area. Hotel has air conditioning both in lobby and hallways and in rooms and the pool is conveniently located 1 floor above ground level. Vi hade en underbar vecka i Dubrovnik och på hotell Komodor. Hotellet är rent och fräscht, pool och solaltan finns och det är inte mer än 50 m ner till stranden där solstolar går att hyra. Hotellet ligger i ett område med andra hotell nära, men det förekom inga störande ljud. Frukostbuffén är väl tilltagen och om det mörka brödet är slut i korgen kan […] man fråga om mer och det finns oftast mer i köket. All personal är trevlig och tillmötesgående och jag kan varmt rekommendera detta hotell, särskilt till alla som reser utan barn för jag tror det finns andra hotell som erbjuder mer roligt och spännande för barnen. Men rengjøringen må ha vært mangelfull da vi fant druer under sengen vår etter 4 dager, og vi hadde ikke spist druer så de må ha lagt der før vi kom.....! The hotel had a good location, close to Lapad beach and a short bustrip to Dubrovnik City. The pool was nice but quite a small pool area so it's not something to spend the whole day by. The breakfast was ok, not more not less. Service was ok but what really made us angry was that they wanted to keep our passports throughout the stay. The can take notes […] or copies but you should always keep your passport closeby when travelling if something would happen. The worst thing is that the stored the passports completely visible to everyone right behind the counter. We refused to leave the reception without our passports and I suggest you do to. Подробнее

Fin beliggenhet, rent og grei komfort paa rommene (lite bad), men personalet var ikke service minded. Vi maatte feks tilslutt til nabohotell for aa faa bestille i taxi og mistet dermed buss til split. Generelt lite imotekommende/hyggelige. Andre hotell i kjeden som ligger like ved anbefales (uvala, splendid, vis)

I can recommend hotel Commodor as a fairly priced and nice family hotel. The breakfast buffet is really good. A lot of nice attractions, beaches and restaurants within walking distance.
