Silka West Kowloon Hotel - Коулун

Nice hotel, small rooms, but very clean, poor breakfast. Rather good location, 15 minutes to Monkok subway station, 10 minutes to Olympic subway station. I would say that for this location and room size it is overpriced.

The hotel staff was very nice when we checked in. We found the rooms to be clean. Much like ALL Hong Kong hotels, they are not big rooms. The shower was about a 3 ft x 3 ft space. For the price and location though, we can't complain. About a 5 minute walk from the Olympic station. Close to the electronics market and a lot of great places to eat.

The hotel was great, with big room, considering it was in Hong Kong. The location was very convenient, and with a lot of shops and restaurants. The main problem was with the reception as it hasn't kept my reservation for one double bed and insisted for giving me a two singles bed room. Although I knew the type of bed was only an option, at the reception […] it was saying to me that the only reason I got the two singles bad was because I have wanted a non-smoking room. But, as I agreed to move to the smoking floors, I was told that there was a misunderstood and there wasn't left any double bed room. Good spot for relaxing on the way back home from Australia to Finland.Good location for shopping (Monkok area). Friendly and helpfull staff.Small minus for amount of non-smoking rooms.

The rooms are fairly small and you get what you pay for. Notwithstanding, the hotel staff is very helpful and they provide wifi to the rooms which was an asset for us. The roomd where also fairly clean and well kept. It iis an ideal hotel for a short stay.

Very affordable, especially given the average price of surrounding hotels. Rooms are comfy and very well kept. It is also well-located, only five minutes walk from the Olympic Station subway stop.

Hotel room quite small, but I heard that in HK almost all the hotels`rooms are small! Otherwise I had a nice view from the 16th floor. Hotel is new and the staff was very helpful. This was one of the cheapest hotel I could find in this category. The location was not bad, but need a good walk from the metro station.

Whilst the hotel is functional as a place to spend one night, you wouldn't want to stay there for any longer. No free internet access.

I had a pleasant stay at The Silka West Kowloon Hotel, found it to be a great base at a reasonable price. It suited me perfectly as i merely used it as a secure base, from which to shower, sleep and day trip from (a short stroll to public transport),and was clean and quiet in an otherwise lacklustre area.

the hotel room is too small, especially the toilet. Once you open the toilet door, the next person cant stand to the bed, you have to move stay on bed. That's means to say the room is too..... small. It will be good if the management can look into this. Secondly hotel staff gave different advise/direction to tourist. example hotel provide free shuttle […] bus to mongkok MTR, however hotel staff did not even mentioned after we checked. in addition, they are also not aware what is the place of interest to provide!!!! The staff was extremely helpful. My suitcase was destroyed by the time I arrived, and the staff assisted me with finding a new one. They gave me a map, with my destination circled and sent me on the shuttle. They also had another English/Chinese speaking guest assist me with finding the correct market and making sure I knew where to be picked up by […] the shuttle on the way back. The free computers/internet in the cafe were very nice. Everything was great about this hotel, except the bed was a little short and firm for me. However, that was not a huge deal. Stay clear away from this hotel. Micro mini rooms and they CHARGE YOU $15 fFOR WIFI. (WE WERE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $55) ALSO THERE WAS ONLY ONE OUTLET... JUST ONE!!!! STAFF SEEMED NOT TO CARE... NEVER EVER WOULD WE STAY HERE AGAIN.... EVER!

Very nice hotel near Tsing Yi and Mongkok. Nice location and tidy, great for a short stay. One thing I was slightly annoyed at was the internet. They said it was $100HKD for 24hours, but when I checked out of the room in the morning I lost access.

Hotel is ok. But if you will be rushing to the airport upon checkout, checkout early. There was no line in checkout but took around 15 to 20 minutes to checkout. For key deposit, try using cash yo facilitate checkout.

You are very close to shopping in Wong Kok but that means you have to walk for 15mins to get the subway. Tiny room but that is anywhere in Hong Kong for that price. You may need to ask for more pillows but they are more than willing to give you more pillows if you ask them.

First of all, the internet is NOT FOR FREE! I booked a room at that hotel because it was on the way from Shenzhen to the Hongkong Airport, and I didn't have much cash money left, actually only enough to pay the MTR and airport express, fortunately I could book and pay the hotel online on Expedia. But when I arrived they told me I have to pay a deposit. […] I told them that I don't have much cash and that my credit card is still on the way from Germany to China and didn't arrive, so after a long discussion they let me stay there without paying a deposit. But after I activated the wireless network of my laptop on the room I found out that I need a password. At the reception they told me I have to pay for a few hours internet access. I was shocked, how can it be that such a hotel doesn't provide free internet access like all other hotels? And then they told me they cannot accept my credit card number, they need the card itsself. I was shocked again. Especially at that time I needed internet for making phone calls via Skype, my cell phone was stolen in Shenzhen before, so I didn't have another possibility. I finally used the phone on the room and left the hotel without checking out the next day. And about the room itsself, the beds are much too short, I am 1.77 m but they were too short for me, how can taller people sleep there? I washed my clothes on the evening and expected that they are dry the next morning as usual, but in this room they weren't. I will never stay there again. Подробнее

The room was small but adequate. We had twin beds with a small space between them. It was clean and quiet. Being within walking distance of the subway made it very convenient for us to go into Hong Kong or out to the Big Buddha. Breakfast was not included but available at a reasonable price. We would stay here again

Loaction close to Mong Kok is ok. Rooms are as small as anywhere in HK at this price range which would be acceptable. Feeling of beeing in a mainland China Hotel. Floors are disgusting dirty, bed was clean. Terrible noisy AC. Access to internet isn't included in the rate. 1 hour 30 HK$ - a rip off. No breakfast included as well.

The bed was too short (5'3"). The bathroom was flooded everytime we were taking a shower. It was a non-smoking room, however the room, the sheets and the towels smell like smoke. The reception refused to give us a second key card for the room even though we we were two persons to check-in. Hotel location is close to Olympic station from which you can get around most of Hong Kong. Olympic centre is close by with shops and restaurants aplenty. Takes 30 min to get in to Hong Kong island. Hotel beds are hard and not suited for persons above 180. Staff is very helpful and overall it was a ok stay.

I booked this hotel based mainly on previews reviews. I found the hotel to have really really small rooms. I have stayed in 3 other hotels in HK, and this was the smallest. I was not aware that internet had an extra charge of HK$50 an hour. For that money I had to pay extra I might as well stayed at a better hotel that included it.
