A secluded cottage resort with four private beaches, this property is set on a 30-acre peninsula between the ocean and a large bay on Bermuda's west side. The open Atlantic Ocean borders the resort's north side, and Mangrove Bay borders its south side.
Property Features.
The Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa offers 94 guestrooms and suites in one- and two-story pink-and-white cottages scattered over a 30-acre peninsula on Bermuda's west side. Some cottages are available only as complete units. One cottage dates from the late 17th century. Others date from the early 1800s when they housed workers for the British Royal Naval Dockyard about 3 miles north. These still bear the names of their last residents. Some cottages began being used for guests in the 1920s, and the resort grew by buying other cottages over the decades. Now, all buildings on the peninsula are part of the resort. Adjacent to a seafarers'-type tavern, is a wall festooned with the names of long-time guests.
Widely spaced on the 30-acre peninsula and separated by lawns and flowering gardens, guest cottages occupy rolling terrain, forming a pink-and-white community under coconut palms and ancient Flamboyant trees. Five pink-sand beaches are on the peninsula. The largest, Long Bay, runs 125 yards along the open Atlantic Ocean and is furnished with thatch shades and lounge chairs. Long Bay Café offers lunch and tropical drinks next to the beach. Two pools provide freshwater swimming. An indoor pool with retractable skylight roof is part of a health-and-beauty spa. A heated, 45-foot-square outdoor pool includes a large sundeck furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas and offers a poolside bar. Steps lead from the pool deck to Morning Beach on Mangrove Bay. Three days each week, the resort provides complimentary 20-minute ferry rides to downtown Hamilton for shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
Children under age 5 are not permitted.
Guestrooms.
Accommodations consist of ocean-view, air-conditioned rooms, suites, and individual cottages, one dating to the late 17th century. All rooms, suites, and cottages are air-conditioned and also include ceiling fans as a cooling alternative. Ground-floor patios or second-floor balconies come furnished with lounge chairs and dining sets. CD player/AM-FM radios as well as televisions with U.S. cable channels and pay movies offer entertainment.

The Tamarisk Room - Overlooking Mangrove Bay. Peaked ceiling with pale-wood beams, pink walls. Also terrace seating under white canopy and umbrellas. Buffet and á la carte breakfasts. Four-course dinners with new menu daily and choices such as grilled-vegetable terrine, fish chowder, salad, lamb loin, and dessert. Live music nightly in the summer. In winter, live music on some nights. Dinner dress code is as follows: For men, collared shirts and long trousers or Bermuda shorts with long socks. Closed-toed shoes. Jackets and ties optional. For women, dresses, skirts, or pants. No jeans or cut-off pants.
Breezes - Seasonal restaurant. Alfresco dining on the beach. Cocktails and grilled seafood. Open for lunch and dinner (weather permitting).
Shutters - Poolside lounge by multi-level infinity pool. Casual dining. Open for lunch and dinner.
Port O'Call - Black-timbered seafarers'-type pub inside and covered-veranda seating outside overlooking Mangrove Bay. Complimentary rum-swizzle party Monday nights.
Afternoon Tea is served daily from 4 PM to 5 PM.
This Bermuda resort includes three hard-surface tennis courts, a croquet lawn, and a putting green, with play on all complimentary for guests. At the resort's marina, guests can rent motorboats, various sailboats, kayaks, and snorkeling and fishing gear. Bicycles and motor scooters can be rented at the resort. 3 tennis courts, a putting green, and a croquet court are also on property.

"Cutbacks"
We definitely got what we wanted - private beaches that are quiet and romantic. This does, however, come at a price, that was more taxing than we realized. We knew this hotel would be remote, we liked that fact. But for a hotel of this price and this far removed, we expected a little bit more in the way of complimentary items (like water, and snorkeling […] gear). Turns out we missed out on a lot by not having my iPrefer membership handy, and when I told them I thought I was a member, they kind of shrugged. Only when I checked in did I find out this had significantly value (credits and free ferry tokens). It appears that this hotel used to have better services (a free ferry to Hamilton), which they appear to have cut back. Fine, but find something to replace it! The once a day shuttle to the dockyards wasn't exactly comparable. We always felt like there was some secret we weren't being let in on, and little pieces were missing, like when two couples have the exact same dinner reservation time at a restaurant that is a twenty dollar cab ride away, it'd be nice to mention that. Nonetheless, we got a kid-free, quiet, stay, with a beach that was far more enjoyable to be at than the public beaches. For this, it was money well spent and we got what we wanted, which we probably couldn't have gotten for the same price anywhere else on the island. Подробнее
We went for our 25th Anniversary. We never left the property, enjoying the privacy of our fabulous veranda overlooking the water, the virtually private beaches, the lovely pool and the good food. The only downside is that is about as far away from the airport as you can get and taxis are more interested in serving the cruise ships than the hotel.
"Mediocre"
Not a four-star resort. Mediocre service. Out-dated furniture. Poor value. Would not return.

"Quiet stay"
CB is quiet and subdued. A lovely setting with 30 acres on which to stroll. Upscale (over used term, I know) crowd but it well describes them (us). Very friendly and helpful staff.
"Cambridge Beaches in Bermuda--A Great Escape"
A vwell kept and well run hotel--actually a collection of cottages spread over a lovely hillside peninsula--about as far as you can get from the airport and still be on land. The hour-long $50+ taxi ride was pleasant and scenic, and the greeting was first rate. The cottage rooms are very spacious and well equipped, and the beds are very comfortable. […] Full buffet breakfast (included) is a good way to start the day, and the dining options at Cambridge are varied as well--dinner on the beach was a pleasure at sunset one night. The food in the main dining room is a bit precious, however. The beaches and pool are lovely, and the entire resort is built for rest and relaxation. Подробнее

Took my wife for are Anniversary,it is a little $$$ but the staff is very nice service is great anything you need just ask they will help you with everything. Great view of the Ocean & The Bay It is so quiet and peacefull very relaxing can't wait to go back next year.

This is a lovely hotel, with a strong roster of repeat customers. Initially, we were hesitant to choose a hotel so far from Hamilton, but our fears were groundless, and we would return there. Everything on the "hotel" side is excellent. On the "restaurant" side the food is good, but a bit short on imagination. As with just about anywhere in Bermuda, […] transporting yourself requires more effort than you might hope for.
