The Alex - Нью-Йорк

Есть все, что вам нужно. Хорошее центральное расположение и просторные 2-комнатные номера дают вам почувствовать себя как дома. Обязательно остановлюсь здесь еще.

Я предпочел остановиться в отеле Alex в связи с его близостью к Центральному Вокзалу (пара кварталов) и театрального квартала (добраться на такси $6). Это отель высшего качества. Нас встретил швейцар, донесший наши сумки до лифта, пока мы регистрировались. А пока мы проходили регистрацию, консьерж за считанные минуты сумел забронировать нам столик на […] субботний вечер на Таймс-сквер. Также, когда он узнал, что это день рожденья моей жены, он дал нам не стандартный номер, а комнаты на верхнем этаже! Потрясающе! Коридорный проводил нас до номера и рассказал детально обо всех сервисах отеля, рассказав даже о том, как пользоваться душем! Комната была безупречна, тихая и чистая. В ней были заполненный холодильник, закуски, 3 плазменных телевизора (включая один в ванной), кожаный диван и небольшой двухместный диванчик, полноразмерный обеденный стол и невероятно комфортабельная постель. Подушки были настолько удобными... Жаль, что я не посмотрел, какого типа они были, чтоб я мог купить себе такие же! После нашего вечера в театре, мы вернулись в номер, где постель была уже расстелена, и нас ожидали банные халаты и пижамы. В любом случае, потрясающе! Я, обычно, останавливаюсь в отелях крупных сетей, но этот был намного лучше. Благодаря впечатляющему улучшению, мне не довелось увидеть стандартную комнату. Но, тем не менее, я видел людей из стандартных комнат, читающих приветственный номер Нью-Йорк Таймс. Единственным негативом была стоимость мини-бара и обслуживания номеров. Очевидно, это деловой район Манхэттена, поэтому готовьтесь платить. Например, в холодильнике не было ничего дешевле 7 долларов, а бутылка шампанского стоила примерно 75$. Завтрак состоял из «американской» трапезы, включающей яйца, бекон, картофель по-домашнему и тосты за 33$. Хочешь бутылку скотча или джина в комнату? Это обойдется в 250$! Я и мой муж остановились в Alex на одну ночь (21-ое мая 2011) и были вполне довольны отелем. Персонал был очень приятным, а отель – чистым и современным. Больше всего нам понравилось в отеле его близость с Центральным Вокзалом, великолепным ирландским пабом «Ideal Pint» (соседнее здание) и потрясающей закусочной, расположенной через дорогу. Мы выпили […] замечательное вечернее пиво на крыше 3-го этажа бара Ideal Pint… великолепная находка! Там же нам полюбилась закусочная через дорогу («Comfortable Diner»???), где есть завтрак для «утра после»… дешево и вкусно… выигрышная комбинация! Это была милая комната, но все в отеле казалось немного сжатым. Принимая во внимание, что отель претендует на большее, чем остальные в этом районе, я не уверен, что он стоит бОльших денег.

Это был хороший отель по приемлемой для Нью-Йорка цене. Мне следовало бы задуматься, когда я зашел в лобби и подошел к стойке регистрации, и увидел там примерно 20 людей, набившихся в очень маленькое пространство. Обслуживание на регистрации было медленным и недружелюбным. А если ваш вес составляет более чем 90 кг, то представляется сложным протиснуться […] между кроватью и развлекательным центром в комнате. Обычный, удобный, относительно чистый отель в горячей точке рядом с Центральным Вокзалом. Не ожидайте много роскоши.

Великолепное место, но расположение мне не понравилось. Комната была чистая и со множеством замечательных функций. Также хорошее обслуживание номеров.

Этот отель мне порекомендовал мой друг, и я был вполне удовлетворен им. Хорошее расположение отеля и очень вежливый персонал (большая его часть). В отеле смог зарегистрироваться очень рано, что было очень приятно. Комната была хорошей, хотя и не слишком дорогой. Деревянные столы были старыми, износившимися. Кровать была очень удобной. Моя единственная претензия - это персонал и обслуживание в ресторане, и я его определенно не рекомендую! Я там завтракал и заказал два блюда. Одно блюдо я получил, но они забыли второе. Казалось бы, не так сложно запомнить, когда во всем ресторане в это время находился только еще один человек помимо меня! Я спросил о нем спустя, примерно, 15 минут (смузи), и официант сказал мне, что они забыли про него. Мне не понравился сервис в ресторане. Помимо этого, персонал был очень доброжелательный и вежливый. А в общем, мое пребывание в отеле было комфортабельным и приятным (я был там на выходных и не потратил много времени в отеле), и, может быть, в будущем еще раз там остановлюсь, если не смогу найти ничего лучше за ту же стоимость. Отличное обслуживание - нас бесплатно переселили в номер-люкс. Очень приятный: крутой, но невероятно дружелюбный и совсем новый. Очень рекомендую!

Мне не понравился грубый и наглый персонал Alex Hotel. Начиная с лифтера в фойе и заканчивая девушками на ресепшене. Никогда больше сюда не приеду.

Maybe 3 Star certainly not a 5 Star. Booked a King Room moved to a room with a large (usless kitchen) and dble bed. Could not get both room keys to work. After the 2nd set we made do with 1 key for the room. Silly elevator set up, you punch in your floor before entering the elevator. Once inside the elevator pushing the floor button is useless. The rooms are nice and the bathroom is very nice. The rooms are not huge but you are in New York so keep that in mind. The staff was always friendly and helpful.

The staff were awesome. We got there at 9 in the morning, they held our bags and checked us in as soon as they had rooms ready. There were many little things the front desk did that just helped out - above and beyond the usual. Will not even look when i return to NY.

We will stay here again - your bar/restaurant was very nice and our room/bed was very comfy. Only prob was it was tough to get a cab but if you walk a couple of blocks in either direction, you can get cabs. All in all, definitely a great place to stay in the city

If you are looking for a reasonable hotel in mid-town Manhattan with a well appointed, larger than usual room size, The Alex is a great choice. Within a few blocks of Grand Central Station (where the airport shuttles stop), it is easy walking distance to business addresses on 5th, Madison, Park, Lex and Third, anywhere between 42nd and 59th. Great hotel, location is pretty convenient just a couple of blocks from Grand Central and walking distance from the park, shopping areas and easy access to the subway to go downtown. Our room was on the 5th floor so it is a little noisy in the morning with vehicles on the main road outside, but its not too bad as you are right in the middle of a busy […] city, how quiet can you expect it to be? If you are over staying in central Midtown, this Midtown East hotel is quite an excellent value. Our room was twice the size of a typical central Midtown hotel and was far quieter. The Comfort Diner across the street is Zagat rated and priced for locals. Our walks to the theater and BB King's were pleasant.

I typically stay in Soho or Time Square area when I visit the city but this time I wanted to be away from most of that hustle and bustle. She enjoyed being away from Time Square and all that, but it was still close and easy to get to Broadway. We were upgraded from a regular room to a studio suite at check in without requesting it. It had a full kitchen that was small but truly had everything you could need including a full sized built-in refrigerator. Of course this was in late Scandanavian design fashion which we loved. Room was good size for New York, no complaints from her, and nicely appointed. It was very clean. We recommend going to Ali Baba, a Turkish restaurant near by, and seeing Ceda at the bar. This is a lovely hotel. very close to many places of interest within walking distance of Grand Central Station, UN building Tudor City etc. It is small and intimate and the concierge extremely helpful with bookings and recommendations. Would recommend

First, it was very far from Times Square, but that's my fault, as I had a map upon selection No ice machines on the floors - had to go to front desk. Other rooms were extremely loud and after complaining, NOTHING was done. Doorman didn't assist with heavy doors or taxis. Inadequate towels. radio would turn on and off AFTER being replaced. Overall, nice contemporary room. Decent size for NY rooms. However, I came for business and no desk! There was a mini pull out desk that I figured out but nowhere to sit. No desk chair! I asked the front desk for a chair, and they said that this was the first time they ever received such a request. Really? They could only find a beat up chair from the […] staff break room. Also, there is no coffee machine or coffee. If you call the front desk, they can send a brand new full-size coffee machine but no coffee. Rooms basically had no desks. They had a laptop stand for bedside working. Workout room was above average.

We stayed here for only 1 night. The hotel is atypical - small hall ways - gives it more of an apartment feel, than a hotel. Small lobby, contributes. The rooms are standard for New York in size, but very elegantly decorated. Would highly recommend this hotel for a quick stay.

Swanky! Upgraded to a studio, love to have this as a pied a terre in Manhattan. Most impressed with the design of the wall units. Prompt room service and comfy bed. Can't wait to return.

Never stayed on the East side but thought we'd give it a try. After housekeeping not having our room ready and being asked to sit in the lobby for a few minutes we then were upgraded for our inconvenience of waiting 30 minutes to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite on the 27th floor so it's hard to truly give this hotel a review as we were BLESSED with a full […] suite. I will say that the lady at the front desk definitely knew her customer service as she immediately apologized for forgetting we were there and upgraded us to a fabulous suite! I had a wonderful stay. Bill greeted me at the front desk. He was so sweet. He gave me a room on the 10th floor with a beautiful view of the Chrysler building. He was very professional ! Great location, friendly staff, better than normal US hotel bathrooms, great bed. A good place to stay for a weekend break.

The Hotel is convenient, cute, has a nice, small bar. Had several issues with my room the first night: the heat was left on 88 degrees (!!) and the mini fridge was over stocked and unclosed, so everything was warm. The staff did replace the fridge so when i returned from dinner there were cold waters, a key requirement. The next morning there was a […] problem with the shower mechanics and most of the water would not go to the overhead. O took my wife here fir her birthday which is Christmas they upgraded our room and the service was great. Had a drink at the bar and ended up making a friend who is from Austria. Lots of Europeans stay here. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

This is a small efficiency hotel, close to everything in midtown. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Even though the hotel is not very old, it is a bit tired. I was in a room with very old water damage on the wooden floor which has never been fixed. The shower heads are outdated. This was a fantastic stay. The rooms were comfortable, clean and large (esp for NYC). The hotel was a five block walk from Grand Central Station - and well worth the stay, even if it had been much farther. And, the Comfort Diner across the street has great food! A wondeful place and value!

New York is known as the city that never sleeps but when you're traveling it's refreshing to walk outside your hotel door and feel like you're in a quiet residential neighborhood while still being a short cab ride away from all the hustle and bustle. That's the Alex. Very Modern hotel in a great neighborhood. Local pizza place, drug store, even a bar […] next door to watch the games. Downside the staff didn't seem overly excited to please customers. But this could just be the nature of the city. I stayed a week in the Alex, attending meetings at UN Plaza. Though I was very happy with my stay, the following points should help other to decide wether to stay there or not: Pros: - perfect location for meetings: just a crossing to the UN and permanent mission - very big rooms for NY standard (studio is perfect size for having the suitcases) - nice […] view over the Chrisler building - breakfast option within one street or so (pain quotidien, Amish market and the usual chains) - staff very keen to help, assist (and grant upgrade when possible) - very confortable bed Cons: - this is NOT a place to work: no proper ceiling lights (only small bedside lamps) and no desk to securely put a laptop on and a notepad... (which may be necessary when on business...). However, if you feel OK working on your bed, then it is all fine - this is NOT an environment-friendly hotel: despite the usual card claiming to respect the environment, the hotel fared very poorly: towels and bedsheets where consistently changed everyday, despite instructions to do so. Even more worrysome, the cleaning lady ran a dishwasher to clean 1 glass that was used... - water pressure: when taking a shower, the pressure fluctuates constantly between normal and trickle of water... Stayed for 2 nights Nov/Dec 2011 - location good, walking distance to all Midtown attractions. Moved to bigger room on 2nd night as son was coming to stay at no extra charge. Service from all staff was excellent. Would definitely stay again - room size good and beds v.comfortable ( mini bar prices extortionate but that was to be expected)

I made my reservation online at 8pm on a Friday, 6 hours before I arrived. When I got into the hotel at 1am I asked if I could have a late checkout as I was fairly jet lagged. I was told that I would have to call the manager in the morning. Upon entering the standard king room I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room as well as how well it […] was furnished, albeit somewhat dated. In the morning I called the manager and asked to move my checkout time to 2pm and she said it would not be a problem. When I checked out at 2:20 the front desk staff was very polite and even offered to hold my bags while I went to my meeting.
