Прекрасный прием в отеле и удобное расположение. Но моя первая комната была невероятно маленькой для двоих (кровать забита между стеной и шкафом и нет места для тумбочки), и там было так жарко, что я почти не спал. Под кроватью было не очень чисто. Мы попросили переехать на вторую ночь и получили номер в современном крыле, где намного холоднее и чище. […] Впечатления о сотрудниках были смешанные, некоторые из них были прекрасными и невероятно услужливыми, а другие немного грубыми. Моя единственная реальная жалоба об этой гостинице это то, что он не имеет конциционера (что характерно), но также не было и никаких вентиляторов, а постельные принадлежности это только простыня / ватное одеяло, что сделало все еще хуже. Близко к всем достопримечательностям, которые стоит увидеть..Немного потрепанный в местах, но кое-где делают ремонт. Немного шумно от железнодорожного вокзала по соседству, но мы не просыпались от этого. Мы бы остановились там еще раз.

Полотенца и халаты были ужасные. Когда главный по уборке забирал их грязными, и мы указывали ему на это, он никогда их не заменял. Завтрак был ужасным, ни хлеба или варенья и мармелада . Тост медленно и слабо поджаривается , чем вы бы могли ожидать.

Разочаровавшись в отель из личного опыт. Декор казался потрепанным и не соответствовал уровню 4-х звездочного отеля . Хотя мы заказали 2 комнаты за 2 месяца вперед, они были расположены в разных блоках - одна из них в подвале у служебного входа. В ту ночь, когда мы там останавливались, в отеле была свадьба - но это не оправдывало расположение нашей […] комнаты, не рекомендовал бы это место, так как рядом есть места получше, в которых я останавливался. Отель был чистый, удобный и находился удобном месте. У нас был номер на двоих, но он был настолько мал, что там было место только для одной тумбочки.Пол в ванной был под накорном и, так как мой муж страдает от головокружения порой меня это беспокоило.Цена, которую мы заплатили не соответствовала размеру комнаты. Our 1st room was dirty and had a broken bed, the 2nd room the showd us was again was dirty. the 3rd room was not the best still dirty and had no aircon The view from the room was lovely, the joint restrant was quite nice the hotel is best for a 1 night stay its good to get off the train dump your bags and explore york.

The website states 'The Royal York Hotel provides unique and stylish accommodation for guests' and I am sorry to report that my accommodation held neither of these qualities. When booking my visit, the room depicted on the website was that of a small but stylish double room, with bright decor and modern furnishings. The room was also described on the […] website as a 'Contemporary light room' which was not the case. The room was in fact dark/dull, the décor was very run down with the wallpaper coming away at the edges and the furnishings were worn, scratched and very old. The shower in our bathroom was working well but the shower dial itself was broken completely in half with one half missing altogether. Within our room there were no modern or contemporary elements in the décor or furnishings and over all the room was very disappointing which left me feeling very let down. On the website literature it described the hotel as 'no expense has been spared in providing guests with a high degree of luxury and opulence', sadly this was not the experience with my visit and I felt no luxury at all, let alone any high degree of it. Hotel was very good overall, but the breakfast was appalling. If you don't want an English breakfast, which was only average, there is no choice what so ever. Very dissapointed with it, and wish I had not payed for it, not worth it!

I have stayed at this hotel before and have to say that this time I was less than impressed.. We were put n the "garden wing", which was not part of the main building that you see in the reviews. Stained carpets, a bathroon that self flooded from under the bath soaking the carpet in the bedroom under the wall. Window into street level pedestrian view […] so absolutely no privacy without curtains. When we returned to our room for our second nights stay, dirty laundry piled and left in the room. Staying in this garden wing; best described as very old motel at best especially comparing the luxury of the main building. Excellent location next to train station. Room was clean and comfortable, but not four star luxury. View of the garden and the Minster was fabulous even in the snow. Not impressed by the bar. Children were in there after 9.30pm - not on! Also the cost of an average bottle of wine to share was £29 - prohibitive. Beautiful, great service, (Room service is far too pricey though), perfect location. .Stay here for a 5 minute walk to all the local bars and resturants. Very comfy couple of nights stay. Would highly recommend.

this hotel is in a very convenient location. It is about a 10 minute walk into York Centre. the Railway Museum is easily accessed via York Station. Do not miss out on a shopping trip to the York Outlet Mall and a visit to Betty's Tearooms. Staff are helpful and friendly. Spa is nothing to write home about but is adequate for what we needed, pool on the cool side. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening. Meal was fine, albeit the menu was a little uninspiring and wine excellent. We ate out on following nights and I would say that with the choice and value available in York itself this is the best option.The bar is nice and prices reasonable. We stayed in early December and there were lots of parties going on. Strangely I saw on one evening the Restaurant being used for a function and Hotel guests being seated in a separate somewhat bland function room down the hall! There were a lot of corporate events going on during our stay but this had no effect on our enjoyment of the hotel other than it made parking difficult. See below. The main drawback of this hotel is parking. It is very limited for a hotel of this size and is on a first come first served basis. We were lucky but it is a lottery, the porters try to help where they can with finding you a space. The lack of parking was made worse during our stay as an observation wheel (like a mini London Eye) was being erected in part of the hotel grounds. The large number of corporate events also restrict guest parking during the day. Overall however this was a good value stay and was very enjoyable. We would stay here again Подробнее

The room didn't match the description or the photos provided on the website. They put us in a room that looked like it was where staff stayed. It was a very far walk and not consistent with the look or feel of the rest of the hotel. It looked like a cruise liner. Only after complaining several times were we relocated to a much nicer room. I have stayed at this hotel twice now. it has great facilities, reasonably priced, good breakfast, polite staff. This is directly on the Railway station line however we found the sound proofing very good and was not disturbed by the train noise. The only issue was parking, they do provide parking however I would say it could do with more especially […] on conference days. The price we paid was certainly not reflected in what we received… Our group had booked five rooms and these all were dated and in need of redecoration. In particular our room was a very small double room with only a wardrobe for storage, the TV which placed on a unit at height lower than the bed so you had to sit on the edge of the bed to watch it, […] in addition the bathroom had a stained shower curtain, dirty grout, etc. Alongside this the public areas were in need of refurbishment with for example frayed carpets on the main stairwell. The hotel had been overbooked so two of our party spent the first evening in a room on the ground floor, this busy corridor was used by staff to move items throughout the hotel and as a result they didn’t get any sleep. Nicely placed near city centre this hotel is in an ideal location. However this is the only good point about this hotel. The bedroom was clean but very small more like a broom cupboard. Families steer clear. 4* prices with 1* standards and service. The business types must get the best deal, families are despatched to the dirty and grubby annex in the east wing, which had an odour of sewage - complaints fell on deaf ears. Royal York Hotel is in an excellent location - right next door to the rail station. Very convenient if you are traveling via the train and a short walk to York Minster. The hotel itself was very nice and reasonably priced. Our room was very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We did have one maintenance issue in our room but the hotel […] sent someone up right away and took care of the issue. The hotel restaurant was pricey but the dinner was excellent. My only complaint would be that when I booked our room online it was advertised as having free wifi - but it didn't. Hotel was very convenient, as we had travelled by train from Fife & London. Room was in need of modernising lots of green mould around bathroom & bedroom windows. Swimming pool bit seedy too, lots of green 'stuff' around there also. Beauty treatment, very nice girl, but a bit chaotic, no credit card machine & running very late as no one was available […] to unlock the treatment room door!! My partner and myself was very unhappy with our stay at the royal York hotel. When we arrived we found the room to be dirty sweet wrappers under the bed, paint work was scuffed the room was very small I found it very difficult to get down the right side of the bed as it was too close to the wall. Hotel location is very convenient. Toothbrush and paste were not provided but available on request. Toilet flush broke in the morning, fixed by the time I returned in the evening. Internet free for 30mins only (I was only told this on check out, when I expressed I was not happy for being expecetd to pay for internet). Overall a mediocre hotel.

When we first arrived the receptionist took a few minutes to acknowledge us however once he did he was efficient and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious and our only issue was that the light at our door was flickering and we couldn't keep it on. It took them until the following day to repair it as on a bank holiday they had no maintenance staff […] working which we found a bit strange for such a large hotel which is open all year round. They did ask if we wanted to move rooms however as we were there for such a short time we decided not to move room. Staff were friendly and the hotel is very convenient for the centre of York - only a short walk away and a few minutes from the Railway Museum. We would happily go back again. Подробнее

Excellent location, convenient location, facilities are very relaxing to be in especially the bar. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. Only thing was the black pudding was over cooked.

The Hotel itself is lovely and you have access to the fitness center including a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. All the staff are friendly and seem extremely conscientious and well mannered. One major draw back... the hotel chain are cheap money grabbing snivelling weasels. After forking over all that money to sleep in their hotel.. also […] a sizeable increase if you wish breakfast which is a self service greasy spoon that becomes samey after the first night ... they have the absolute gaul to charge for internet access in the room!! they charge £4 per hour via ethernet cable. I have been in cheaper, less well maintain hotels but at least they gave you free wifi, this was the first thing that annoyed me.. Secondly they continued the cheap money grabbing trend by charging for parking, how miserly does a hotel have to be to do that?? I parked in the hotel a total of 4 nights and got charged £28 for the pleasure.... £28!!! Their stinginess has totally put me off ever going to any of their chains in the future and i would suggest you stay away as well really... not worth it as you can find cheaper hotels that actually provide wifi and parking for free... and a decent choice of breakfast served!! Excellent position being adjacant to the railway station. Only 10/15 minute walk to the city centre and all the attractions, shops and restaurants. Hotel room clean and all basics provided. Breakfast good selection and well prepared. Evening meals reasonable selection but a little on the expensive side. Hotel staff very helpful.

The Royal York Hotel was very convenient for the centre of York and right beside the station! Very close to all the must see sights and shops! Room while quite compact was clean and had all that was required for a short stay! Never got time to use the leisure facilities, but there seemed to be plenty of them! Very convenient and got a good deal!

Peaceful and comfortable stay in York whilst attending close relative's funeral. Good location next to rail station as we travelled by train from London. Good, clean, spacious room. Enjoyable breakfast. Good service.

We made a complaint about the room whilst we were there and also to the company and awaiting repsonse. The hotel itself was beautiful and breakfast was lovely. Our room was on the lower ground, it was extremly cold had to ask for a heater and showered in the spa, it was fitted for people with disabilities and very out dated compared to the other rooms. […] We went and spoke with a cleaner to look at another room which was lovely and she said they get alot of complaints about these and they said herself that they are horrible rooms. If i had to go back to the hotel i would only go if we would not get a lower level room because at least i would think we got our monies worth.
