Superb location. Hotel is directly opposite a river with a great view. Approximately 15 minutes walk to the town center. Room is nice and clean. No air-conditioning though. Would be perfect if they had provided a flask for boiling water. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mediterraneo. Although it looks like it's a bit of a distance from the train station it was about a 10 euro cab ride. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from downtown Florence and we enjoyed making the stroll every morning and evening. Nice hotel with WI-FI with good places to eat in walking distance. The only downside is if you don't like to walk. It takes about 15 minutes to get the center at the tourist sites on foot, but it is a easy and scenic.

When we booked we were unaware of the included meal plan, (3meals a day, plus evening open bar), so that was a plus for budget. I think the 4 stars that this hotel has is slightly overrated. I would say it is more like a 3 star. The breakfast buffet wasn't great. It had started to run out of everything by about 9.30/9.45am. Be prepared. This hotel is out of the city in a boring neighborhood. We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel staff at the concierge/check in desk are rude and indifferent. They have no concern for guests, and no desire to assist you. Also, the "free" wifi included in te booking has two catches. The first is if you ask for the password, they try to charge […] you for access. When I said isn't it complimentary, I was then asked my room number and thrown a piece of paper with an access code on it. When I asked for one for my partner, I was told one code per room, which meant only one of us could access wifi at a time. Also our air conditioner in the room was so loud we had to switch it off to sleep, which meant the room was too hot. The noise from the hallway and adjoining rooms was unbearable. It was a nice hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good. Lobby was very active. The balcony had a very nice view and the hotel is close to the major sites. We were able to walk to everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room was tiny. The shower was tiny. The wireless internet was down for two whole days of our stay. Only three computers can be used in the lobby which we have to wait for 30 minutes to use the internet.

I stayed with two of my friends in Florence for two days. This hotel was conveniently located close to all attractions, yet far away for a quite rest. This is an excellent value for money hotel. From the moment you check in, the staff are very helpful and friendly - always there to provide anwers to any questions. We had some issues with the electrical that caused great stress; the hotel lived up to its promise to credit my account for the nights stay. Nice gesture. The hotel is in great location and other than electrical problems in our room, everything was greaw..breakfast really good too!

Location was great. Close to center but far enough away from all the crowds. Easy walking to everything. Hotel was very clean. Got charged 5 euro for Wifi that was supposed to be free. Terrible wifi connection, unable to use in room for 3 nights. One night no hot water or wifi. Complained to staff and was told " the chinese guests like to take baths […] after dinner, wait 1/2 hour" still no hot water until about 11:30pm. Medical conference was there during our stay. The day they arrived no hot water or wifi available to us. Whole lobby filled with Medical device Booths. Graphic images and information presentation in main lobby along with gynocological intruments and testing equipment. Really strange. Hotel totally catered to them and not other "paying" guests. As others have commented, the hotel is far from some of the sites but it's only a 15-20 min walk on cobbled stones (bring walking shoes). This was a good hotel, clean and friendly service; buffet breakfast had more choice than one normally sees in most European hotels. Only negative comment was that the room was a bit small compared to North American standards but then most Italian hotel rooms are smaller.

The staff was young but not friendly at all. I asked for the TV remote control. Nothing in the first day and in the second day I was told by a young lady that the HDMDI TV was so modern that it did not have a remote control. The air conditioner did not work for 24 hours as well as the safe.

Not the best of hotels. Just scraping a 4 star in our view. very pokey bathroom, smallest ever. Just mean all round really, no kettles in rooms, measly breakfast, congealed scramble, greasy pancetta, cold roast tomatoes and cold beans. the worst ever coffee - think the beans had been burnt.
