Royal Station Hotel - Ньюкасл(-апон-Тайн)

An impressive hotel for the price...unfortunately my room was rather noisy and shaky, right next to the railway...but they very kindly upgraded me to an amazing room after I said it wasn't suitable for me. Great food too and I had a swim, always nice!

Friendly staff, clean room on level 5, with the lift only going to level 4, but I didn't mind as once I'd dropped of my bag I would then only use the magnificent wonderful staircase for the rest of my stay. Tricky parking but the hotel staff all bent over backwards to help. Arrived late (Sunday) on the train from Manchester very glad the hotel is literally at the station. However sleep was severley disrupted from a disco near by. Next morning I moved rooms still at the front of hotel, but at the other end. (Colleagues at the back couldn't hear disco but did get noise from trains). Other comments would be that service is good from the staff, the hotel is very convineant for exploring Newcastles pubs, restraunts etc. The interior of hotel is tired and a bit gloomy but the rooms themselves are nice and spacious. Have stayed at the RSH several timesAs its convenient for late trains arriving from London , good breakfast and keen to please staff - also rooms are very varied - on this visit Room 122 is very small but quiet and had everything for 1 night at a good price - good value for Money . Once-grand hotel in a decent location with good parking facilities, either free or paid-for next door. Good leisure club with gym, pool, sauna, etc which was free for guests. Great location at the side of the train station. Room was dated and fairly small. If you just want somewhere to sleep for a night though, you get what you pay for. Left luggage service was very useful.

Both times I have stayed at this hotel I have arrived by train so the hotel next door is very convenient. There are buses to take you anywhere outside the front door and the hire car places are within walking distance. Parking places are at a premium but the car is very safe. I've stayed at the Royal Station Hotel on several occasions and have always received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable and spotless. Will have no hesitation in staying at the hotel again as its in a perfect location

I was happy with my stay as it worked well for my work location... A short 5-10min walk to a load of restaurants etc... I booked a refurbished room which was one of the few rooms that was double glazed. Great location for rail travellers and for persons visiting city centre. Rooms spacious and clean, staff friendly and helpful. Did not use restaurant. Getting rental car a little difficult as no rental agencies close to hotel.

We stayed at hotel six years ago, and think the Cairn Group have refurbished it well. Helped that we arrived the day after Xmas Decorations were finished,it helped give a really nice atmosphere to Hotel. Will use again for any future visits to Newcastle.

Well the room was fine although it would have been nice to have been able to se the TV from the comfort of the bed. The main problem was the parking. There's very little and if you don't get a place it'll cost you £15 a day in the station car park. Brief stay for a business trip. No complaints. Great location right beside metro/train station, short walk to city centre. Hotel room very comfortable & clean, quiet at night. Didn't have the breakfast but looked good. Overall, I would recommend.

My daughter and I spent 2 nights here, we were very happy with the location as we arrived by train with luggage. The staff happily stored our luggage til the room was ready. First of all, cheap toilet paper! However mostly the hotel was nice. We were upgraded to a superior room on account of some electric problems so that was a nice bonus. Although the outside was raucous, we didn't hear a thing from our room. It's about 2 mins walk from the station which we wanted due to late arrival. I'd stay there again.
