Hotel Whitcomb, A Historic Hotel of America - Сан-Франциско

Я остановился здесь с братом на выходные. Я клюнул на цену, т.к. она была относительно невысокой по сравнению с другими номерами, которые я нашел в интернете. Фотографии отеля обещали историческую, если не неудобно романтическую обстановку для нас с братом. В любом случае, номер был очень маленьким, а вид из окна ограничивался 10 футами. Кровати были удобными, номер - чистым, отель был чистым и находился в хорошем месте прямо рядом с BART и остановкой автобусов и канатной дороги. Номер был чистым, а кровать - удобной. Ванная могла бы быть и почище, но в целом всё неплохо. Скорее всего остановлюсь здесь еще.

Это абсолютно потрясающий отель! Фойе может похвастаться прекрасно сохранившейся резьбой по дереву и люстрами начала 20 века, той эпохи, когда отель изначально создавался (1910 год). Отель находится в центре делового района Сан-Франциско, если вы доедете на удобном поезде BART из аэропорта до станции Civic Center/UN Plaza и выйдете на 8 улицу, то окажетесь […] буквально в нескольких шагах от двери вашего отеля; лучшего варианта просто не найти! Главный торговый район находится примерно в нескольких кварталах, центральная библиотека, музей Азии, троллейбусная линия F, с помощью которой можно попасть в район Castro или на Рыбацкую пристань - всё находится буквально на расстоянии вытянутой руки. Я столкнулась с проблемой, когда по незнанию выбрала для поездки самое горячее время - август. Из-за удобного расположения отеля, в холлах были толпы туристов из Европы, и казалось, что везде, куда я бы ни пошла, были очереди. При отеле есть отличный Starbucks, а на другой стороне - прекрасный ресторан, но будьте готовы к длинным очередям. Другим неприятным моментом оказался ужасный уровень обслуживания со стороны персонала и равнодушных и грубых сотрудников на ресепшене, которым не доставало личного отношения к клиентам. Я подошла к одному из сотрудников с вопросом относительно услуг в городе, но он был слишком занят, чтобы обратить на меня внимание, и, не глядя, отправил к консьержу и сказал "спросите там". Персонал на парковке был таким же грубым. Впрочем, горничные были очень располагающими, приветливыми и услужливыми. К сожалению, поскольку из-за расположения и привлекательности дела у отеля будут идти хорошо, некоторые сотрудники будут воспринимать это само собой разумеющимся и не задумываться об обеспечении качественного обслуживания. Отели в Сан-Франциско очень дорогие, но нам очень повезло с ценой и качеством отеля Whitcomb. Самый большой плюс - его цена. Для отеля, находящегося в большом городе, номера здесь просторные и удобные. Персонал в целом приветливый и предупредительный. Фойе отеля оформлено в классическом стиле 20-х годов. Пара слов о минусах: в номере (со стороны Market […] Street) было очень шумно. И находится отель в не самом лучшем районе. Где-то в 100 шагах от него стоял попрошайка и просил мелочь. Парковка небольшая и достаточно дорогая (но по ценам в Сан-Франциско вполне нормальная). Свою машину лучше не брать, а просто ездить на такси. Красивый старый отель в сердце Кастро. В нескольких минутах от всего. Хотя очевидно, что отель старый, они уделяют большое внимание тому, чтобы красивые люстры и бра сверкали. Персонал был очень приятным, и я с уверенностью рекомендую этот отель. Пара шагов до BART, и вы уже едете в аэропорт. Такси нигде нужны!

Клерки были немного грубоватыми и нечуткими. Они отдали кому-то мой номер, и я прождала 45 минут, пока они всё не уладили. Никто передо мной не извинился и даже не поблагодарил за терпение. Прекрасное расположение относительно общественного транспорта, и вполне чистое место.

The Rooms are very small with no coffee Maker or fridge on demand theyasked for extra money for the fridge.No thick curtains so you have to wake up with the light.All electric switches are old they need to change .

This Hotel is just fab, Location is great right by Bart, not too far from shopping but unfortunately to room was REALLY small I reserved a Queen but it was more like a full and not much walking room. There were too many chairs and not enough lighting. Plus one of the lamps was broken. Staff was super, very helpful and fast. if you are a business traveler, do not stay here - i checked in at 10pm and pulled to the front door curb expecting the valet at the front as month SF hotels have - got my bags out, was nearly mobbed by some european tourists as i tried to find my way to the front desk, the lobby is not exclusive to the hotel but in the back of the building-upon check […] in, i was told that i had to pull my car to the back of the hotel for the valet - i drove around 3 times unable to find it - dark and scary alleys in the back - once in the hotel the light at the door would not turn on - i apprehensively entered the room and found a lamp which was full of cobwebs literally! went in to inspect the bathroom because i was already nervous, something nasty was in the toilet - proceeded to call a night supervisor and had the bathroom cleaned, bed linen changed - that was done after 11pm.yes, they "comped" my 35 dollar parking fee but it was a nightmare and would not recommend certainly to any business traveler...awful and scary - but the people that worked there were nice Подробнее

This hotel is terrible. The lobby is deceptively nice, with marble floors and counters. But the actual rooms are disgusting. The tv in my room did not work, the bed was old and bowed in the middle from over use and the pillows were chunks of foam wrapped in a pillow case. And I am pretty sure the bed had bedbugs, but I didn't stick around long enough […] to find out. The bathroom was passable at best. The neighborhood is loud and ghetto. Hotel is historic, but old also. The fitness room was dusty and the equipment was outdated and poorly maintained. Parking at the hotel is $40 per day. Staff was outgoing and restaurant above par. The rooms are adequate but not updated. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. Lots to do in the surrounding neighborhood.

The guy in the front, he is the worst person i've ever met. he does not show any hospitality and is rude (he speaks both spanish and english, looks white). The quality of room is not what you expected, so if you want to make your stay happier, PLEASE choose the other hotel!

No amenities, smells like mildew, old outdated TV, neighborhood full of transients, funky bathroom, Only upside was quality mattress and bedding. This was the "superior room" makes one wonder what the "standard room" is like.

I had a conflict that was most likely created by me. Mistakenly, the booking for my room was set for the wrong dates. In a rush I contacted Hotels.com. My customer service rep worked with the hotel manager to not only correct the dates, but also the hotel manager waived the service fee. I liked the hotel's location, very nice inside. Parking was expensive and they got my room mixed up. Other than that the service was really nice.

Great hotel, and super price in SF. Very close to Hayes street and Bill Graham auditorium. Bed was comfortable and clean. Cool old hotel vibe too. Will stay again.

Hotel Lobby is very attactive and nicely restored. Excellent location for theatre district and access to BART &, Metro cars. Expect lots of homeless lining Market Street.

Lovely place to stay! Clean and quiet and comfortable. Having BART outside made it so handy to get places. The only downside is the surrounding neighbourhood. There are a lot of homeless people around. I just didnt feel safe walking in the area. But having BART right outside the door makes up for all that. I would def stay here again.

Beautiful, quaint, sophisticated hotel. Very comfortable, chic room with fine linens and tall ceiling. Grand marble foyer with oriental carpeting. European feel. The neighborhood cafes were fabulous (heading away from town) and it was a nice walk to the wharf (towards town). Starbucks was downstairs. We had a nice stay. The room was located towards Market street which has lots of traffic and there was some noice but we slept well anyway. We had seen previous complaints from others on slow internet and lots of homeless people. The internet was ok for our needs. We also noticed a lot of people living in the streets in the neighbourhood but found that […] this was friendly and harmless people. the hotel was very nice on the inside, clean rooms and such. the bathroom was very small not really enough room to move around. the hotel is right downtown close access to Pier 39 but the surrounding neighborhood is not pleasant there are homeless everywhere and 1 block from our hotel is an area where you should not be caught at night alone.

The exterior and lobby are nice, but my room was in dire need of an update. The electrical plugs were very scarce and the few that were there did not work. The bathroom was very dated, and not in a good way. The bedding could have used a good cleaning. ROOM WAS VERY NICE,THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE, THE RESTAURANT (MARKET STREET GRILL) WAS OUTSTANDING AND I LOVED HAVING THE BART STOP RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOOR. THE ONLY THING LACKING WAS COFFEE IN THE ROOM.

The hotel overall was just ok. Not somewhere i would go to myself again but wasnt horrible. Staff was nice a little short but nice. Very comfrtable, lovely room and well appointed. Outside was the Bart underground (direct from the airport) and the F tram car stop outside for the short run down Market Street to central San Fan and Fishermans Warf. Godd hotle and great location and a good price.

This was our third time staying and we still like it. It's a historical hotel and they have kept it that way and we liked that. The rooms are nice and the bed comfortable. The staff was nice and we love the concierge who is a very well informed person and very down to earth. But best of all we love the location, location, location. You cannot beat it. […] You can take the BART from the airport and it stops right in front of the hotel. There are so many buses that pass right in front of the hotel. I stayed with my wife 3 nights , The reception personnels were very familial and helpful. the room is wide , clean and the bed was very soft and restful.the excellent location of the hotel in Market street makes every location in SF is accessible . We enjoyed our stay - the location is convenient, the only downside is they charge $35.00 for parking on top of the price of the room.

The hotel is located in the South of Market (or SoMa) neighbourhood in San Francisco and, in my opinion, this is not the place to take long night strolls due to the deprived state of the surrounding streets/shops and the number of homeless people. Having been with children, the proximity to "adult-oriented" show venues was particularly inconvenient. This […] actual hotel has seen much better days in the past: it is clearly outdated and with poor maintenance as reflected by its tatty decoration and passe architecture. While there is nothing wrong with a classic grandiose building, in this case the stains of time are demonstrated by stained carpets, ungrounded power outlets, unavailable (business/guest) services, ... In terms of health and safety, the hotel does require to review its current fire readiness. During our stay, we experienced two fire alarms in two consecutive mornings, and it became clear that their emergency procedures are not fit for purpose. On the positive side, the personnel is in general friendly and attentive with the price somehow reasonable. Center of San Francisco allows access to everything you would like to visit.

I was surprised to find the hotel in great shape, confy bed and clean for the money so seemed like a great buy. HOWEVER, the internet service was terrible. I was not able to work in my room as I really needed to. When I travel I MUST have good fast internet service all the time, not just when it happens to be running. When I called to complain the desk […] told me that no one had complained so it must be my computer. When I checked out I mentioned it to the desk clerk and he immediately agreed and told me the hotel was in the process of switching carriers because the service was so unreliable! Really! I will never stay at this location again, not because they had troouble with the service but because they absolutely LIED about it. With the truth I could have changed locations, taken my computer to Starbucks for a short term fix. Bottom line I believe the management has told the staff to lie about the service and that is NEVER a good approach. Also, a false fire alarm went off both nights I was there which meant getting dressed and going downstairs and then could not return to sleep.
