it was a kind of gamble when we booked this and was surprised. it a nice motel beside the beach. the room we had was completly remodeled. everything was new even to a new bathroom (but very small).5 minutes to the beach in a nice area. loads of bars and restuarents around.down side is the small car park which would be a problem at the weekend.we had […] to pay for wifi and it was a bit noisy.but it was cheap and knowing these things would stay again. i was generally pleased with the hotel - good location for a decent price, and free parking. There was a surcharge for Wifi, which is always a pain. But my biggest complaint is that the walk-in shower was designed so poorly that it flooded the bathroom floor with every shower! I think it was a handicap-accessible room, which was fine (although we did […] not need it) but there must be a way to fix the shower so it drains properly. The room was lovely, brand new with a super comfy bed. The bathroom was also nice, with a great walk-in shower. The hotel is 2 mn from the beach and 5 mn from restaurants and bars so it is perfectly located. The room was very clean. You can't offer breakfast and then have no breakfast sitting area, we couldn't sit in our room since it had only one chair ( and the room was a bit on the small side), so we just sat on the stairs outside to have our coffee and muffin (don't expect more than that, no milk, no water, no bread... ). The parking can also be a problem, very few spaces and huge cars trying to squeeze in. Last point is, would be nice if the lady at the desk would smile more and try to be more welcoming. Closet, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron w/ board! High bed, w/ great comforter, ( like Hampton inn) full length mirror plenty of drawer space and a desk for work and snacking in room. The hotel was great, rooms were really cool and cozy. My only disappointment was in the sheets. The bed was so comfortable, but the sheets were surprisingly low quality and scratchy. Everything else, absolutely wonderful! Lots of bars/restaurants within walking distance, so close to the beach. I would definitely recommend!

I have been coming to San Diego for many years and This was one of the best places I have stayed. I only have one thing that I found to be unusual. In the bathroom there was no light over the mirror and no towel holder by the sink. Other than that I will be returning again hopefully with my whole family.

Good location 1 block from ocean. Rooms nice enough for beach get away. Not fancy but very serviceable. Mini fridge and microwave were nice as well as separate seatin area to eat

Pleasantly suprised at renovations, very nice room. After requesting a different room due to noisy neighbors, we had an enjoyable stay. Close walk to Garnet restaurants and right near beach. The only complaint would be an extremely hard mattress.

Every thing is very good except there is very limited parking spaces and there breakfast is a snak with coffee or juice, not a breakfast which I booked hotel with breakfast.

This place was recently renovated. They did a fantastic job. Everything was brand new or looked brand new. The bed was comfy and I could just go on and on about the room. Well done guys! Plenty of shops and a nice area to ride a bike or walk down the beach. My only complaint is the parking. It is really tight and the spaces are meant for tiny tiny cars, not normal sized cars. Overall I was quite pleased with this hotel. Location was good, room was updated and clean. This hotel is steps away from the beach and a definite plus. Small parking lot, but it wasn't a problem. In the middle of the night there was a homeless man tripping out bad on something. I stayed on the ground floor and he walked past my door as he was yelling […] and grunting. It woke me up but I was too tired to get up and look out the window. It was a little concerning but also a bit amusing because I can only imagine what he hallucinating. The room was really clean, the inside was remodeled just recently, everything is pretty much new. We had small issues with the booking. Hotels.com booked us a king size, but the owner put is in the single queen. They fixed it after we talked to the receptionist. I had a terrific stay here. Very nice room. Front desk peeps were friendly and helpful. They even helped me get my big luggage up to the 2nd floor. I had NO problems with noise or thin walls. I brought earplugs - they worked like a charm. Best sleep ever on a Saturday night! I really enjoyed my stay here. For the price, the value was outstanding. The rooms are newly renovated, and actually have style. The beach is at the other end of the block, where there is a walkway along the top of the beach. There are shops and restaurants nearby. The rooms are much smaller than they advertised. There is not sufficient parking. The continental breakfast was lame and the office does not open till 7:00 am.

The rooms were up to date & very clean, a few blocks from Garnet where there is a ton of food and shopping, beach block. Only had to park at the sister hotel once, but it is less than a block away and it was very late, not a big deal whatsoever! Overall, I have nothing to complain about. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice and clean hotel, the remodel did it justice. True about the wall insulation, or lack there of. The staff was excellent, made every effert to accomidate. I must say, I was quite impressed with the room more than anything else. Probably the most important factor in choosing a good lodging for you and your loved one. The location was quite nice, especially if you like to take a walk on the beach or just wanted to browse the neighborhood. Hotel's surrounding is quite simple, it has some residential areas […] to the opposite and to the other side, there are hotels and the access to the beach and the walkway. This is a newly renovated area with some hard floors and some carpeting. Bathroom's shower facility was impressively clean and modern. Definitely enjoyed the vanity included in the room. However, the bed was not as comfortable as the first impression I've got from entering in. Nonetheless, it was decent enough give me a good sleep. Also, definitely loved the wooden blinder, no classic carpet looking cheap drapes. Overall, the stay was quite enjoyable. I guess due to the week being in a spring break for some, it was quite loud until the late night, other than that, it was nice. I would definitely think about staying again with this establishment. Right on the beach, close to everything in PB. Newly remodeled rooms are very nice, I could' t probably afford this hotel during summertime, I wish I could... Unfortunately the parking is limited but you can use the hotel one block north, overall a great experience!

I really enjoyed our stay and I am sure that we will make a return visit. The beds are a little hard but everything was great. The staff was very accommodating and the location of the hotel is awesome, so close to the beach.

The hotel room were beautiful! Recently renovated with top of the line furniture. The shower was spacious but no bath tub. Less than a five minute walk from the beach and a five minute drive to the "downtown" area. I would definitely stay there again!!

For some reason, we were put in a handicap-accessible room, so the bathroom setup was a bit awkward... The shower floor was flush with the floor of the rest of the bathroom so every time we'd try to turn on the shower, the water would shoot out so far that it would saturate the floor with water, all the way out to the sink/toilet. The only solution […] we could find was to point the water towards the corner and basically stand up against the wall to bathe. Other than this minor flaw, the bed was comfy, the room was well-sized, even though we didn't use it, the TV was huge, and customer service was great when checking in/out of the room. The location of the hotel is great...just 1 block from the ocean. The hotel is new and so it was clean and cute. I found it odd that there was a desk and no chair, in fact there were no chairs at all in the room. My biggest gripe about the hotel was the noise level. This is a newly renovated hotel. We stayed in a basic room and were satisfied with all aspects of our stay. Parking is tricky, but there is another property a short block away with more spaces if it comes to that.

PB hotel was great really upscale finishing in the bathroom and bed linens etc. Area was fantastic close to everything. I saw substantial value, price/experience. This was down the street from the beach, in walking distance at least a dozen pubs and restaurants. Newly modeled, very clean and comfortable. We had a great stay, booked it last minute and room was ready an hour later. Courteous and prompt desk staff (although they dont have any toiletries except for soap/shower gel) so make sure you are stocked), Perfect central location within walking distance to shopping, bars, restaurants. Good location. Easy to get to the beach. About 15-20 minute drive to downtown San Diego. Only downside is hotel is a bit noisy. Busy street out front, and sound proofing of the rooms was not the best.
