Staff is friendly and very professional in every way. Nice exercise facility was clean and well-equipped. Room was comfortable and well appointed. The only downside was that all the door-closers slam the room doors. And you can hear doors all over the hotel. The hotel staff is incredibly friendly and service oriented. The restaurant is excellent and the environment is one of the best I've been to in the Detroit area. When I arrived around 11 pm I had to park my own car and manage my own luggage. No room service for a glass of wine because they were out of wine due to weekend weddings. As a previous visitor when The Henry was still a Ritz its hard not to compare. Its a bit unfair compairing a 4 star with a 5 star however the real difference is in the employee training. Although everyone was very nice I would point out a couple things that make a difference in star ratings: First having to make three inquiries regarding a roll away […] bed in our suite for my 6 year old over the course of 3 hours. Second when pulling up to the hotel we were greeted by telling us to please do not go up to your room before moving your car to the parking lot and last ly a 30 minute rate during breakfast for a toated bagel because "we are understaffed today' overall nice hotel worth stying there. We are a family of four. My children are 5 and 16. I booked this hotel a month ahead of time being reassured that there would be enough beds to accomidate the family. We arrived, the hotel was totally booked, and all we got was a room with one king sized bed, needless to say the teenager didn't have a spot to sleep. They offered a "roll away bed" for […] an additional charge of $50. Bathroom was clean for the most part, (grout needed deep scrubbed and only provided 2 towels), bedroom was clean, no bugs (I checked). Pool was less than desirable, it was dirty, the floor was disgusting, the water was cold. Security was good, you needed a key card to get off of your floor or into the gym and pool. Staff at the desks were for the most part helpful and kind. Busboy and valet, not so much, they made you uncomfortable and I witnessed a few of them in a group talking and making rude comments about some of the "higher end" clients. Love this hotel! The staff remember you by name and the doormen alone make your stay. The beds are the greatest. Large, beautiful bath. Nice restaurant, pool, exercise facility...the amenities. "Cycled through all surrounding neighbourhoods"
This hotel is good. However, I've been cycling through all surrounding neighbourhoods and would not recommend to go more than 2 miles north from the hotel, as long as Warrendale neighbourhood that starts right from Ford Rd (about one mile from the hotel) and goes to the north looks really scarry: every 5th house is abandoned and every 50th is burned […] down or has no roof, roads are not well kept and garbage is not collected regularly. To stay safe keep closer to Dearborn Heights and Dearborn and do not enter Detroit. This was the first time I have ever seen McDonald's with 2 bulletproof windows to give your cash through and receive orders. "Food"
I had breakfast at 7am on Sunday morning in the hotel restaurant. I ordered off the menu instead of having the buffet. My food was cold and bacon was hard and the potates had been sitting so long they had turned very dark. I think the food was taken from the buffet instead of made fresh. I was very disappointed. Had breadfast at the Henry last year […] this time and it was wonderful. So disappointed in the food. Also, When making the reservation a week earlier.
