По прибытии в отель администрация не могла найти мой заказ. Примерно через 10 минут его, наконец, нашли, и меня поселили в комнату, которая не значилась в моем бронировании. Я мог бы остановиться в 4-5-звездочном отеле за те же деньги... или еще лучше, я бы отправился в мотель и заплатил бы треть стоимости за такие же "основные" удобства. Я ожидал получить то, за что заплатил, однако отель значительно завысил стоимость своих услуг, виной всему был тот факт, что из-за большого мероприятия, все номера были забронированы, […] наш заказ был изменен, и нам дали комнату, не удовлетворяющую моим основным потребностям по состоянию здоровья. Нас "перевели" из стандартного номера с королевской двуспальной кроватью на чердак с обычной двуспальной кроватью из-за чрезмерного поступления заказов в отель..... Не очень удобно, так как у меня были пролемы с бедром, а чтобы добраться до кровати, мне пришлось подниматься 15 ступенек по лестнице. При этом отель был настолько переполнен, что мы не имели возможности сменить этот номер. Отель довольно старый... Я имею ввиду ужасные обои и старый синий ковер, однако в комнате у нас было положительно чисто. Кровать была ужасно неудобной, и лежать на бумажно-тонкой подушке было абсолютно неудобно..... наш запрос на получение дополнительных подушек так и не был удовлетворен. В лучшем случае я бы сказал, это было чистое место, но помимо этого отель действительно не предлагает ничего, что вы не смогли бы получить в дешевом мотеле. Подробнее

Регистрация проходила очень медленно: один человек (Misty) на ресепшне, очень приятный и услужливый, однако обслуживающий очередь из 3 групп. В комнате было темно и неприятно пахло. Окна выходили на проезжую часть к отелю, от которой доносился шум возвращающихся из баров рано утром людей и подъезжающего дизельного туристического автобуса, который работал […] на холостом ходу в течение длительного периода времени. Постельное белье было самым скромным, не было подходящей простыни, небольшая простыня была скорей похожа на чехол для матраса, одеяло и покрывало были старыми и изношенными. В первую ночь пьяный заблудившийся гость отеля бродил в 2:30 утра, сильно стучался в двери, том числе в нашу, стараясь найти свой номер методом исключения. Наши двери закрывались неплотно, между дверью и косяком была большая щель. Я мог наблюдать за парнем и слышал, как он шуршал. Это меня немного потревожило и заставило меня задуматься о бдительности персонала отеля, так как эта история происходила всего в одном этаже от стойки регистрации. В номере не было ведерка со льдом, я спросил об этом на стойке регистрации, угрюмый клерк ответил, что ведерка у них нет, и предложил мне мешок для мусора. Не было кофе в первое утро нашего пребывания, кто-то правда потом пришел со стойки регистрации, чтобы принести нам его, что мы очень оценили. Сушительная машина в ванной гудела как вертолет. Покрытие вентилятора, ручки двери ванной и стены были запачканы грязью и брызгами, которые легко можно было бы очистились с помощью мочалки, но никто не удосужился это сделать. Нет шапочки для душа... конечно, это очень простое удобство, которое мы ожидали. Расположение отличное. Мы останавливались во многих других отелях Хантингдона в рамках этого квартала и смежных ему и будем останнавливаться в одном из них снова, но на этот раз мы выберем не отель Huntingdon, а что-то другое. Большинство всех достопримечательностей, которые мы хотели посетить, находились в нескольких минутах ходьбы. Да, в отеле нужно заменить ковровое покрытие в номере. Однако наш номер оказался весьма чистым. Дружелюбный и внимательный персонал и хорошо охраняемая парковка.

Номера в отеле Huntingdon похожи на мини-квартиры с кухней, гостиной и столовой, спальней на верхнем этаже.У нас был очень удобный номер для пребывания в Виктории. Четные номера на третьем этаже предлагают вид на внутреннюю гавань. (Определенно стоит заплатить немного больше за один из таких номеров!) Хотя отель находится всего в квартале от паромной […] переправы, в окрестностях отеля на удивление тихо. Неподалеку достаточно много отелей, но район более походит на спальный. У нас был один из самых тихих номеров отеля, в которых я когда-либо останавливался. Единственным недостатком расположения являлось то, что большинство ресторанов в этом районе (кроме ресторанов отеля) находилось на расстоянии 10 минут ходьбы и дальше. Но это оказалось только небольшой проблемой. В Виктории очень просто добраться до всех основных туристических мест пешком. Мы оставляли нашу машину в подземном паркинге отеля в большинстве случаев, за исключением одного дня поездки по живописной дороге вдоль южного берега, а затем до Butchart Gardens. Эту гостиницу я нашел в Интернете и выбрал её из-за удобного расположения, так как встреча у меня была запланирована довольно рано. В комнате не было кондиционера, зато было одно маленькое окно без возможности проветривать номер. Несмотря на расположение гостиницы, в комнате ощущалось то тепло, то жарко, к тому же спали на неудобных кроватях. Питаться приходилось в других местах (типа the Spaghetti Factory - около 4-х кварталов от гостиницы), где были приемлимые цены на еду и сервис. […] В комнате был работающий мини-холодильник. Ближайший продуктовый магазин находился в 2-х км от гостиницы. Как высказались мои дети: "Не вернуться ли нам в гостиницу the Days Inn (Ричмонд/аэропорт YVR) - там бесплатный завтрак, кровати поудобнее и уютная комната." Friendly staff and very industrious new manager. Room cleaniless in some areas could be improved. Excellant location for seeing Victoria. Excellant restaurant adjoining property. Very relaxing atmosphere at this hotel.

Always a great time in Victotia

I got a really good deal on this hotel through hotels.com. The room was decent and clean. The hotel itself is older and has some quirks - the plumbing could use some upgrades, but we just needed a place to crash for the night and it served that purpose nicely.

our stay was fine except for one thing. i called down to order room service for breakfast from the menu provided in the room. when i asked if i could get some breakfast, the woman on the other end said, "absolutely not!, i'm much to busy. you'll have to come down to the restaurant" i was rather gobsmacked and very disappointed, needless to say. the […] gentleman on the late shift when we checked in was very, very nice and helpful. inconsistent service is what i'd call it. Contrary to early ratings of the hotel,the service was great, the room was ready and was clean, only one of the chairs needed some work,room 112 there was some noise from the plumbing but for the price and location was just fine. I would stay there again and would recommend it to Friends

Really nice hotel, very close to the ferry link from Seatle. Walking distance to the city, shopping and supermarket.

This hotel has a great location the staff are great and very friendly. We had one night that we had guests that were very loud and we had to call the front desk within minutes it was taken care of and all was quiet again. They have just changed ownership and the hot tub is now working the dinning rooms are open We were in the Nottingham loft suite it […] was old decor but very clean they are now updating all the rooms. The bed was a bit hard but not too bad. Since we were there they have changed the prices they seem to have gone up to twice what we paid. We would stay there again. We stayed there for nine days and would highly recommend it we got a really good deal. The location is great we were on the top floor overlooking the harbour great to walk to all of downtown. VERY CLEAN & COMFORTABLE. GOOD LOCATION.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for ten days. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was quiet. However, we had booked a king-size bed room but, to my surprise, realized that the bed was two single beds pushed together. This meant that there was a gap between the beds that created an uncomfortable bump while sleeping. When I asked the staff […] about this, they informed me that this is a "California king" bed. The front desk was very welcoming and friendly. Super easy check in. The rooms were basic, but met our needs - easy internet connection. Pop machines didn't work - had to walk a block to get something to drink without going to the bar. The hotel was nice, but because it is older it is very loud. You could hear everything all water being turned on and people coming in at 3 am. Outside noise as well. Also parking wasn't included and extra $10

This hotel is on my “will definitely come back and plan to” list. Located in James Bay, it is the best place to be in Victoria -- next to the harbor on a quiet treed side street yet within walking distance of the Museum, Parliament buildings, shopping and restaurants. It is a character hotel with décor in the style of an English inn and my room was […] large and very clean. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming – even lending me an umbrella on a rainy day -- and I felt comfortable and safe as a single traveler. Jet-lagged for the first few days, I would wake up and look out the window at 4 a.m. and see the lights on the harbor and hear the cries of gulls -- at other times, the occasional foghorn. This is, however, not a modern business-oriented hotel. Yet for travelers like myself (and businesspeople) on a budget who enjoy a personal, homey atmosphere, I would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is rather dark, worn and shabby. Ancient tv in room, knob missing off the radio, fuse panel door fell off in room. Plumbing from surrounding rooms is noisy. But we've stayed there before and would stay there again; rooms are clean, the location suits and the price is right. Staff usually friendly.

Great Location, great price but rooms are dark and not cleaned as well as would be expected. You get what you pay.The great advertised special is not that special.

I was having surgery in Victoria and afterwards needed to sit comfotably for a few days. I choose the Norfork room because it had a chesterfeild. When we arrived we were assigned a room with a bed a table and side chairs. I went down to explain the situation and they did manage to get a wing chair in my room. They said not all Norfork rooms have couches […] and left it at that. The room looked a little older than in the picures. The remote didnt work and we asked them to look at it. They taped up the back of it and it still did not properly. The room service was great and the food was excelent. I guess I just expected to get what was advertized in the pictures. Situated in sight of Victoria's inner harbour at a fraction of what you'd pay at the neighbouring hotels - the only frustrating part of our two day stay was the broken ice machines and empty pop machines . Apparently the new owners (took over last week) are still getting the fine points down. A great deal for the price.

Though a bit dated, this hotel was in a lovely location, clean and quiet with a helpful staff. Relaxing stay, and within easy walking distance of many of Victoria's downtown sightseeing areas. We would go back there -- it was excellent value for the money.

Our room was small but well equipped. It was close to the Harbor and other attractions, and besides the restaurant in the hotel there were two other restaurants close by. The price was excellent . They don't provide a complimentary breakfast, but there is secure parking for a fee.

This was a great deal. Location is close to inner harbour and great for walking around this area. Hotel is not new and no, certainly not up-to-date decor ... but at this price and location, who cares? How much time are you spending in your room? It's clean, quiet, and I kinda liked its "faded charm." The mattresses were very uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The rooms need some updating - decor hasn't changed in 20 years! And every vending machine and ice machine in the building were empty the 3 days we were there! Had to go across the street to another hotel to buy bottled water. From the moment we arrived at the Huntington, it seemed pretty clear that people who had booked with a hotel booking service were not to be given respect. My husband struggled away, placing all our belongings on a hotel cart, in clear view of reception. As we were given our key, they nonchalantly mentioned that we had to walk up 2 runs of stairs....gee, […] thanks. The room itself had not seen an update since sometime in the '80's, and had the musty smell of old age. While the room was reasonably clean, the toilet plunger detached, the bathroom fan sounded like a jet aircraft, all surrounding rooms had remarkably noisy water supply, the tv remote did not work, etc. This would all have been forgivable if the people behind the desk had been even the least bit friendly. They were, in fact, the most aloof crowd I have EVER encountered in the tourist industry. Not once, when we passed by the front desk, did one of them ever offer so much as a smile, much less any help. We never mentioned any of our issues. I think we all understood that this was what one got for the price. The Huntington is very conveniently located, and parking was very reasonable. But would I go back? Very disappointing. The pictures on the website are very misleading. You think you're getting a unique, European, modern suite, but what you get is a filthy roadside hotel atmosphere. The staff did the best they could with what they had to work with, but it seems to me like they need to reteach their housekeeping staff what the definition of "clean" […] is. The first suite they gave us smelled so bad and the carpet was so dirty and stained, I wondered if someone had died in there. We went down to the front desk and complained about this and they kind of denied that there was a problem and said they had no complaints from anyone else. Then we just wanted to cancel our stay, and that got them into action. We were given another suite 4 doors down and although it smelled better, it was not very clean. We felt like we should stay because we didn't think we would be able to find a room else where on a friday night. Decor is very outdated(cheesy, really) . Think early nineties, wallpaper was faded and peeling off, dusty silk flowers and ribbon hot glued to dusty, dirty lampshades, lamps that looked like they came from a rummage sale. The bed was very rickety and felt like it was going to fall apart. One of the cheap little plywood nightstands actually broke in the middle of the night and the lamp nearly fell on me. There was dried crumbs and dirt under furniture, we saw this be cause we moved a chair to a better position to watch tv. I was too afraid to check under the cushions. There are other things that were a problem but I don't feel like typing it all out. There are nicer, cleaner hotels nearby, and closer to the downtown area, next time we go to Victoria, we'll stay some where else. Bottom line, what you see online is NOT what you get. Because the room was such a disappointment, we only stayed there long enought to sleep and shower and spent the rest of the time walking around enjoying the sights. Подробнее

Reception area very attractive. Our room was not particularly attractive. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable I have tried to sleep in.It was a low priced room (thankfully) But disappointing. Too bad.

After reading the previous reviews, I was prepared for something equal to the low cost of what I paid for. Both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised! We booked the Buckingham room with a King Bed. The room was very large and clean when we got in, but there was an issue with the toilet that was leaking. Stellar location just across the street from the U.S. Ferry landing. Within walking distance of the Parliament Building, The Royal BC Museum, The Inner Harbour, and the storied Empress Hotel. Rates at the Huntingdon were far lower than other hotels in the immediate vacinity..most likely due to the fact the hotel is dated....but by no means is the place […] shabby.
