This is a beautiful building, with very old features that were preserved. Staff is very nice and happy to help. The location coukd not be better to visit historical Nimes. Our bedroom was spacious, very quiet and comfortable. All in all a very good experience.

I think this is a gem of a place. It's not in the flashiest part of town, bit it's near to lots of restaurants and a stroll from the central shopping, the Arènes, Tour Magne etc. Entering from this ordinary street into the beautiful internal courtyard with its Escher-esque staircases and lovely breakfast area is enchanting. This Hotel, which now seems to be called the 'New Hotel de la Baume', has been fairly recently renovated and redecorated and, while it appears fairly insignificant from the street, is in a beautiful late medieval building with a wonderfull stone staircase opening onto a small courtyard and, in our first floor bedroom, a finely decorated ancient timber […] ceiling. Its location is very convenient for seeing the main sights of Nimes and there are several good restaurants within a couple of hundred yards The service was friendly and efficient. The only untoward occurrence was that our two friends who were staying there with us were stuck in the lift going back to their room on the 3rd floor after breakfast and it was an hour and a half before they could be freed. A chamber maid was sharing the lift with them and so was able to explain the problem in detail on the emergency phone provided and the owner of the hotel did all in his power to chase up the emergency lift services (made difficult by the fact that the day was a public holiday). He made repeated telephone calls until eventually an engineer arrived and rapidly dealt with the problem. All four of us were then plied with complimentary coffee and other refreshments and the cost of our breakfast was waived when we came to settle the bill Подробнее

For a couple of days sightseeing this is a great location and the hotel staff could not have been more helpful. Hotel itself is OK - everything works, but no lift and all a bit tired. No complaints though as that is what was expected.

It was very central and despite being only two star ( which must be because there is no lift...a disadvantage), the room we had was at least three star standard.the room wad very clean and comfortable.

The welcome was warm and the staff very helpful. Bed really comfortable, however the over bath shower did not have a wall fixing and despite the booking notification stating that there was free WI-Fi in the room and smoking, this was only available in the lobby (had to pay otherwise) and smoking in the room was not permitted. Breakfast was buffet style […] but was expensive for what was offered. The location was realy convienient , near the bus stop where the bus from the airport stopped and very easy to walk to all the must see venues. Overall would stay again. Подробнее

Don't stay here unless you're desperate. The hotel, had a nice, well-maintained common area, but that proved deceptive. The room had an empty water bottle from the previous guests under the bed -- a clear sign it hadn't been cleaned -- a toilet that only worked once every four times we tried to flush it, a sink that was so shallow water would splash […] out onto us, and an air conditioner that rattled and kept us up until we turned it off. In addition the walls of the room were dented, dirty and in some places the dry-wall was gauged out. The Hotel tried to cover up the poor maintenance with very weak lighting in the bedroom -- resulting in a room that was very dark -- rather than dealing with the maintenance issues. In addition, while the hotel advertises it has wifi, it is not available in the rooms. When we raised the toilet issue we were told to talk to the manager in the morning. The next morning the manager was hostile and denied there was anything wrong with the toilet. We couldn't wait to leave. Подробнее

Hotel was fine - modern rooms and brand new bathroom. Bit taken aback on arrival as painters were working on the hotel reception so the reception desk was makeshift throughout our stay and wet paint in a few places. The work did look good and I guess it has to be done some time. Good TV, air conditioning and comfy bed. Had a bath and a shower attachment […] but nowhere to hang the shower and no curtain so tricky to wash hair. Not sure if this was unfinished or intentional.... Had room only - lots of breakfast options. Gambetta places had coffee, croissant and OJ for just 2.5 euros so ideal. The location is very central. The don't have car parking, but there is a parking garage that charges 7euro a day which is a two minute walk. Great staff, lovely little hotel and very cheap and clean.

We were very disappointed with the New Hotel La Baume in Nimes. The hotel is centrally located, and the communal areas are quite attractive with the exposed stone work. We checked into a standard double bedroom and whilst the room was clean, we were disappointed to find old furniture, uncomfortable mattress and that you had to pay for wifi if you wanted […] to use in the room (note that it was free in reception). The room we were given had a very noisy radiator, which gurgled constantly. It had no air-conditioning and the neighbours were very noisy. Because of a day-trip missed connection, we found ourselves in Nimes, unable to get to our flat in Uzes, on the evening before we had actually booked at this hotel. This was a decent place for the price and deserves its 3 stars (recognizing how different the system for star rating is over there). Some reviewers were put off by the surrounding street but it really was normal for the town and the location. We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel La Baume. The staff gave us a large room with a deck. The deck overlooked the rooftops of Nimes. We had a nice wine, bread, and cheese that evening. The room was very large and comfortable. The room was also very modern with a very nice bathroom and modern fixtures. Check out the beautiful staircase in the middle […] of the hotel. We felt like we were staying in a castle! They have an atrium area that is very beautiful. We regretted that our schedule didn't permit us time to enjoy a cafe there. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I would enthusiasically recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is in a good position for exploring the centre of Nimes and has plenty of character. Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise throughout the nights we were there from people who lived in the narrow street behind the hotel - celebrating and arguing very loudly. The hotel was very glamorous. It was an old but nice building. Its location was great for main attractions like Pont Du Gard Aqueduct, Avignon, and Chateneuf the Papes. I enjoyed it very much. There was a popular market in the La Halles Mall nearby every morning. It was also a great place to go to.

Hotellrommet vårt i 2. etasje var moderne og pent, selv om det var ganske lite. Pent bad - men minus for at det kun var håndholt dusj og ikke noe dusjforheng... Fancy kaffemaskin på rommet, som koster ekstra å benytte - foretrekker vanlig vannkoker. Aircondition kunne virket litt bedre. MERK: Hotellet hadde ikke WIFI på rommet, selv om det stod i voucheren. […] De hadde en veldig dårlig tilgang i resepsjonen. Du må være forberedt på at du må bære koffertene opp eller ned noen trapper - heisen går i den ene fløyen, og den andre fløyen ligger på et litt annet plan. Fantastisk pen åpen trappeoppgang rundt en liten patio. Det er ingen parkeringsplasser ved hotellet, men dersom du kjører rett frem så langt gaten går (ca 100 m) ligger det et rimelig, offentlig parkeringshus. Fungerer bra å trille koffertene tilbake fordi fortauet er jevnt.
